Sam Fisher and Frank Anderson from the northern blues, BC

That is good news. The midfield could certainly do with some reinforcements and these two guys appear to be quality players.

Now there are 3 players from Northern Blues that the club announced this afternoon Sam Fisher, Frank Anderson and Deven Costigan. Unusual for 3 guys from the same VFL club to shift to WA at the same time

Sam Fisher

Sam Fisher could hardly have been more impressive in his first season at the Northern Blues last year. The former Sydney rookie came to the Blues aiming to add to the Club’s midfield stocks and he did exactly that, with his second half in particular seeing him match some of the competition’s very best. With an ability to extract the ball from congestion, provide breakaway from stoppages and also hit the scoreboard, Fisher’s outstanding year saw him finish second behind Tom Wilson in the Laurie Hill Trophy. Identified as someone who could still take his game to another level, Fisher is someone on Northern’s list who has genuine AFL qualities.

Touted as one of the most in-demand players from local football in the country 12 months ago, Frank Anderson settled in well in his first season with the Northern Blues.
Whether it was hunting the ball or in a defensive role, Anderson made his mark as a top tier midfielder for Northern, forming a strong partnership with Sam Fisher.
Despite suspension and a shoulder injury delaying an emphatic start at his new club, Anderson’s performances saw him earn an invitation to the Victorian State Combine ahead of the upcoming draft.
His standing among his coaches was evident when he finished among the best players in nine of his 12 games.

Deven Costigan started in Gippsland, played for the Northern Blues in 2017 and has spent the last 2 seasons playing country footy. He is a midfielder/forward who was unlucky with injury early in his career.


All 3 look really good prospects.

Three handy additions to our club. Hopefully will solve our issues with run in midfield and getting under packs for possessions.

Just need to solve our big man issues - another ruckman and key position are needed.

There is a young player from Lake Grace Jack Treveven training down basso hopely there sign him been playing with my team here at lake grace and a fearless half backman who reads the play so good he make everyone look slow. Talented country football remains me of wayne twomey.
