LB of all the fatuous comments that have been made on this forum your comment is one of the elite. Would I want my club to change places with your "club"? Unequivocally and unambiguously NO. I would prefer my club to die with dignity than be the sham, farce and prostituted club that yours has become.

No bad coming from a narrow minded fool who's club has survived on substantial tax concessions and WAFC hand outs.

What tax concessions Clear-view and WAFC hand outs?

This person is a troll Swan42, wonder if clear-view is a part of Barneys elite group? :P

Mikeh you might like to check the definition of a troll. Stating facts on current subjects raised by others is anything but. As for your comment re elite group you can stop wondering as I don't know anything about it.

Swan42, do your research and you will discover Swans have received a tremendous amount of assistance from the ATO and the WAFC in recent years to keep the club going. Just as a matter of interest 5 of the 9 clubs held talks re aligning with the WA AFL sides. Can you name the other 3? :)

Larry Tird is clearly trying to ruffle feathers by suggesting that Bazzo is not a safe place to come and watch football. It's one of the best attended grounds in the Comp and I would say has the biggest turnover in bar sales easily as can be witnessed with 2 full can bars each week. With alcohol being the main factor in violence this is another tick to swans and their supporters as I've never heard or seen unruly behaviour or anything untoward. I think this is the safety Larry Tird is on about unless he's talking about the possibility of getting splinters in his ass from sitting in one of the stands.

But Johnson smashed you in the hitouts (39) and they had 7 more scoring shots?? Cant blame the umps as it was 16 - 15 frees?? Bloody shame you couldn't get over the Feral horde as it was a great day for footy and a big crowd on hand.

one team had Jack Darling at one end and the other team didnt, he was the difference.
his opponent Howard was one of our better players as well, Darling was just too good in the end.

Serious point Mark is that if Darling went straight into Eagles that means McInnes or Sinclair comes back to EP. Not fair I would agree but that is the reality. The fact that as an older person I have been abused at both Joondalup and Bassendean may be trivial to you but it's not to me. Lathlain can be dicey too but if you stay away from the caged area there is no one else at the ground to worry about. I certainly wouldn't expect anyone on this forum to show me any hospitality. I have never understood the attraction of drinking alcohol whilst trying to watch a game, I'm far to engrossed in the play to worry about anything else.

couldnt really care who the East Perth Eagles have playing for them in games not involving Swans.
Darling playing on Saturday got them the 4 points, that is all that matters.
anyone know if the Eagles bloke got reported for cleaning up Faulkner in the middle of the ground ? think it may have been Lucas who took his eyes off the ball and ran straight thru him.

C-V can you please quote your sources of this alleged assistance from the ATO and the WAFC. Could you please explain how you are able to quote what should be confidentail information.

Talked to 5 Clubs you say but that was just a smokescreen put up by the WAFC to seem to be unbiased... There intentions would of been to Save Peel and EP who were both running at huge losses and could of become insolvent in a season or two as you cant run a football club on an empty tank.

Just proof of the WAFC's inability to run a competition and their
Bias when bowing to the 2 AFL clubs in regards to the Alignment

So cut out the shit when you know these facts.

Here is a definition Internet 'trolling' is the anti-social act of causing of interpersonal conflict and shock-value controversy online.
I think calling someone a narrow minded fool would fit comfortably into that category. I also very rarely see comments from you that are constructive and about the actual game.

Yes Mad Dog, in many years of going to Bassendean I have never witnessed any unsavoury crowd behaviour where people would feel threatened. Many times I have seen supporters of opposition clubs happily chatting away to Swans fans in the can bar so I don't understand how people would feel unsafe there, the only thing that could happen would be if people started making provocative comments in front of opposing supporters but that could happen at any ground. I remember the Preliminary final of 2010 where East Perth and Swans supporters around me were bantering away during a great contest, all good natured though and there were 11000 people there that day.

I was very disappointed to read the report in the West this morning of the East Perth v Swans game. Instead of a proper match report the article just highlighted that East Perths premiership prospects were back on track replete with a few quotes from Paul Johnson. There was also discussion about the positive impact that Eagles players had on the game. The only mention of a Swans player in the article was Alex Howard, but even that was in the context of discussing Darling performance. There was no credit given to Swans that they actually gave a good contest to a team packed AFL players.
All in all a very poor piece of journalism.
