Slips over behind his opponent and lands on his back in the goal square and manages to mark the ball whilst laying down. Don't see too many marks like that taken.

Yes that was a ripper. I often wonder whether Notte would be worth another chance at AFL level. He is still built like a point post but he is a lot stronger and very versatile and can read the ball very well.

Mate a fellow snr player told me he was very close for this week and will probably be back next

Thanks SD, the man should be wearing a cape :P . I know people have played with broken ribs but a punctured lung is another matter. This guy is courage personified and an inspirational captain. I just hope he is not rushing it and risking further injury.

MH, be prepared to lose Ames for a lot longer than 2/3 weeks if he returns even within the next fortnight, its not courageous, its stupidity !!!

Its a fine line sometimes isn't it Leedy? I would think that the medicos at Swans would have the last word on this and I don't think Harding would want to risk losing him for the pointy end of the season.

Swandog wrote: Poor umpiring once again marred this contest and Stuart Parry once again was a major culprit. 250 games of shite today for him and a disgraceful act that was reported to me by a fellow SD supporter (I didn't see it) was he held the ball up to the Macca stand on his way off at half time grinning a laughing, pathetic if true. He has a knack for paying momentum stopping shit decisions that halt a team on top like we were when coming home like a steam train to get within a goal
I noticed during the game also that players are now allowed about 4 or 5 attempts to rid themselves of the ball whilst being spun around 3 times before a holding the ball decision is contemplated? Obviously a directive from the AFL and the inept Sinclair and co. And a baffling call of kicking in danger against Jukes after he soccered a goal was a joke and had us scratching our heads.

I'm not a fan of blaming umpires so I won't comment on them as a whole. However, the worst for me was the free against Cary after the dubious out of bounds call. He turned his player around on the boundary and the ump called out of bounds when he was racing into space towards an open goal. He was frustrated and slammed the ball into the ground behind him (a distance from the umpire but in his direction). The field umpire then penalised him a free kick. What for? Remonstration? It clearly wasn't directed at the umpire, it was just frustration. For throwing the ball away? He's not obligated to return it to him and the ball went in his direction.

Just bizarre.

Noticed young Michael had a word with Ames on the tv football telecast today. Ames didn't seem to be in pain at all. Was waiting for the obvious question but it never transpired.

In your opinion how do you reckon they are going? And I have heard all the rubbish like, "Why don't you have a go at it and see how hard it is" etc etc bla bla bla, or "What about the mistakes players make every game? " etc etc bla bla bla, but they are just cop out comments for inconsistent adjudication where they seem to make it up as they go along and change interpretations from week to week, the paying public deserve better standards, but with the same clowns running it like Sinclair and co then we are in for more of the same! :(
The game should be umpired like the last 2 mins of the Geel v carlt game Friday night, but for 4 quarters!! Pay obvious shit and leave the tiggy touchwood ones that may be there to the letter of the Law but if common sense was used it would be just "Play on!" And yes I admit I am one eyed and passionate in the heat of the moment like a few others on here, but standards were better dare I say as recently as when Hendry and co were going around and that isn't long ago..Anyway rant over and good night!

And I am not blaming our loss on them either as Subiaco were far superior on the day and good luck to them!

They are very quick to forget what happened in round 7. Free kick count of 18-34 against Subi, several of those frees were paid against us after taking a mark inside 50. Yesterday they still had more frees than us.
