Again, there must be more behind the scenes because it would be very out of character for Wes given his devotion to the club over a number of years.

If that is true than that is really poor. What is it with ruckmen at Swan Districts that spit the dummy?

If he was to come back though, would you want him? Yes he is an important player at the club and vital in the ruck department but with the season almost near the end and with Swans needing to galvanize their squad to make a push for the top 4 with games against ,my mob the Demons, Claremont, East Perth and Peel before the bye, then would you want a player that has just walked out on the club and has some mates that are a but dirty/disappointed with him. Would take a good 2-3 weeks of SOLID training and outstanding performances in the two's if he was to come back. And if a results for Swans don't go their way, they could find themselves 2 possible 3 games outside the 4. Thus meaning they would have to win all their remaining games against Peel, Claremont EF, WP.

If you were a player, how long would it take for you to trust in Wes again?

Why single out Wes? Twomey and Jetta have been punished for their efforts this year also. It's a pretty common theme...

Twomey and Jetta haven't walked out as far as I have heard. And it was more in reference to ruckmen at Swans.

I still think there is more to it though, you don't just walk out after coming back from an injury.

Twomey and Jetta (and Stack from Perth) went back to the 2's, played well and came back up. I see Blackwell played 2's for Claremont on the weekend, wonder if he threatened to walk out?

This is just another issue that tells me we are in some deep strife, not only at the moment but heading into next year with the East Perth Eagles and Peel Dockers coming into the comp.
We have league players disillusioned, constantly being disciplined and leaving and the team underperforming. We have a ressies team who hasn't been successfull for a long while and our colts programme is a shambles at the moment. Im happy to be wrong but our better players, outside of Garlett aren't really youngsters and there doesn't seem to be many replacements 20-23 years old coming through to cover when Newman,Neale,Bennell and most likely Garlett leave at years end. Please don't blame zoning and what not. Something is clearly wrong and I fear that next year and beyond will see us down the bottom for another extended period.

Maddog it is my understanding that to cover our losses due to the alignment and possible players drafted is the reason why we are playing some colts' players in the reserves' team for the past few weeks. The idea is to fasttrack those players and to have an idea of which ones will be able to play league next year.

Obviously, that has had an impact on both the colts and ressies with respect to wins; and yes, it has resulted in some ugly losses for our colts' team. I believe that some people, including Peter Hodyl, have spoken to the colts' players about the current situation.

Whilst we have had a very up and down season thus far, we have had a fair number of injuries to cover as well. Hopefully, we will get some players back in the next few weeks which will provide a more even playing performance.

As to Wes Lammie it is my belief that the club has been very supportive of his position as our number one ruckman in the past couple of seasons. I don't believe that it was inappropriate for Lobb to play in the league team last Saturday and for Lammie to play in the ressies. How embarassing do you think it was for Twomey to win a Simpson Medal in a state game and then be dropped to the ressies a couple of weeks later? He did the right thing and went back to the ressies and performed. Similarly, for Jetta.

Wes Lammie did not leave because he was told he was playing reserves. He knew he couldn't return from injury and walk straight back in to the league side and was prepared to play reserves.

Harding questioned Wes's injury, character and commitment to the club which Wes took great offence to as Wes is the hardest working and most committed player at swans.

People may say "but Wes went to Peel a few years ago"...my response to that is that all Wes wants to do is play the best football he can. He commits so much time and effort to football. When he made the decision to try with Peel he was completing against Spaanderman for the #1 ruck spot at Swans. Llane would walk in and out and of the club; dish up crap and still be given the #1 spot, so who could blame Wes for wanting to try and get the best out of his football somewhere else. Llane held that #1 ruck man title and with that title came credit, so if Wes and Llane were both fit, Llane would get the nod over Wes because he was #1. Wes asked the question that if he made it through the week in the reserves and has a good game does he come in...? Put it this way, if this weeks game was a grand final who would be playing if both ruck man were fit?? If your answer isn't Wes then your kidding yourself.

There are always things at a football club that are behind closed doors that happen that most will probably never hear or know about, but in this case there are other factors at play. There are always 2 sides to every story, so lets find out both sides and stop labelling Wes as a bad person or disloyal to the club he puts so much time and effort in to.

Has anyone actually spoken to Greg or Wes about this???
