Swan42 you are going too far back, this is about here and now. I am not suggesting its not viable for him to play reserves for a week. I watched Lobb live against Subiaco and have tracked his perfomances. I mentioned that Swans could play them both.

What people need to think to themselves is, if this is reasonable to have him in the twos for a week, if you know anything about wes. He is a total club man and team player. More dedicated than any player at the club. More humble than any other (to the counter to what you people are saying) - so what makes him walk from this? The answer lies in the football departments conduct and standing to the players.

As for asking about how I conclude the other things. I have spoken with a number of colts/reserves players and associates of the coach.

I think Mac Attack is on the ball with this one.

Wes has been an outstanding clubman over a number of years, I'd suggest simply not being selected for the league side would be just a small fraction of the story if this alleged cause has some truth.

There would have to be deeper, underlying issues.

Wasn't Wes rumoured to be going to Peel a few years back? Perhaps there was some deal inplace to retain him that is not being adhered to.

So, who apart from Lobb is there in the ruck department? Blakely I assume is one?

I don't know Wes, but I have seen enough of him on match days and around the huddles etc to think that he is not the type of guy who would walk out on the club lightly and certainly not for being asked to play in the ressies, so there is obviously an issue within the playing and coaching group at the moment. This would partly explain why the league team has been playing so inconsistently this year as well. They are just not playing with the same level of passion and confidence that they did in 2012. With the talent they have, they should be higher on the ladder than 5th.

he went to Peel and came back saying they were unprofessional, he then got promised the league ruck gig when they flicked Spander and has been league ruck since..
so basically he has been given a league game since then and then hurt his leg and now there are problems..?
sounds a bit strange to me considering he didnt deserve to get picked in league after 4 weeks out so if that is part of his reasoning then that is pretty stupid on his part.. ..

Spoke to a couple of players Saturday night and they are dirty with Wes. He was apparently told that he would be coming back through the 2's and then spat the dummy, didn't turn up to training Thursday and hasn't been seen since. They said quite a few players and the coach have tried to contact him but he won't take anybody's call.
From the outside, he seems to be a wholehearted contributor every week even though he has limited ability and it is a shame that he is acting like a spoilt child.
Hopefully sanity prevails and he gets over it and finishes the season.
