The only Scorchers players who got a pass mark for me from this season were
1. Jhye Richardson - who was very consistent, an absolute class above the other fast bowlers
2. Fawad Ahmed - very hard to get away in the middle overs.
3. Liam Livingstone - he improved as the season went on, worth signing up again I reckon
4. Josh Inglis - Good partnerships with Livingstone and an excellent season with the gloves

Of the others Chris Jordon was OK but not quite up to the standard expected of a big name overseas professional, Mitch was too inconsistent, would pull out a blinder about every 5 innings. Matt Kelly is an OK new ball bowler but failed consistently in the death overs and yet they kept bowling him in the 19th and 20th, Cam Green was discarded unfairly late in the season I reckon. Bancroft is not a 20/20 player IMO. Leave him to concentrate on shield cricket, Paris lost confidence, Agars bowling was reasonable but his batting was non existant, Turner and David contributed zero. Patterson only played 2 games so too early to make a call on him. Who have I missed? Oh yes Morkel who was paid a crap load of money to bowl one lousy over. Sums up the Scorchers off field decision making process

So did the WACA really pay Morkel to come over for potentially 1 game?

FMD!

I think he lives in Sydney now GTR where his wife who was a former sideline commentator on the BBL is from.

Great wrap up Mike, spot on.
I wonder if the doofus's at the WACA will actually chase some of the many WA players playing for Bleak City or Sin City clubs eg- Stoinis, Phillipe, Cartwright, Hinchliffe, NCN, Morris etc although I think S.Marsh signed a 3 year deal so no chance there.

NCN, Cartwright, Marsh and Hinchliffe left this year....so they won't be coming back.....Bancroft presence is impeding any chance of Phillipe coming back...if Inglis goes down Bancroft is the reserve keeper....I'd be pissing off Agar and Turner TBH....rather Wes over Ash any day at present....Jono Wells seems like a finisher....Stoinis and Short are the ones to get back....Stoinis and Inglis opening, with Short in at 3, Mitch Marsh at 4, Green 5, Wells 6 looks a lot more potent than what the Scorchers have now.....bowler wise if Green is fit....Richardson, Paris, Tye Kelly, Marsh, Green, Ahmed and Stoinis would give the Scorchers some options...probably find another spinner somewhere....overseas spinner perhaps...

Freez, you can add Jason Behrendorff to your list of bowlers.

And has anyone noticed that Agar's form went off about the same time as his hair?

Three players on the Scorchers squad that didn't play a game this year were Aaron Hardie, Nick Hobson and Liam Guthrie. Has anybody heard any reasons why not? Particularly at they brought in Jaron Morgan from Joondalup, then promptly dropped him just as quickly.

Speaking of not playing. I noticed that Brisbane batsman Max (superboy) Bryant hasn't played for a number of matches. Again, has anybody heard why not?

BH I was listening to Thomo from channel 9.He said the Scorchers setup for BBL 10 will be different, from the past.
Voges will look after the Odi+4 day games. And a specialist coach will come in for the BBL.Like Gillespie from the Strikers. Could be a Dean Jones or Baz McCullum

The BBL finals is a top 5 final series. Stars,6ers,Striker's, Hurricanes, Thunder.
The first two finals have been disappointing games.Hurricanes lost the elimination final to Thunder. And the 6ers early beat the Melbourne Stars on the Mcg.
Next up is Adelaide Striker's v Sydney Thunder at the Adelaide Oval. The winner of that match will play the Melbourne Stars. In a preliminary final and progress to the Grand Final v the 6ers at the Scg.
The Sydney 6ers have added Steve Smith,Josh Hazelwood,Nathan Lyon and Shaun Abbott to the side.Shaun Abbott is an international T20 bowler.Good luck to whoever plays them in the final.
