How on earth have Turner and Agar been chosen for Australia?
Regardless of it being a meaningless one day series but their form this season has been awful for WA & PS tbh.

Another dreadful fielding and bowling performance by the PS at Perth Stadium.
Lets see if they can do any better with the bat?

Updated now PS 3 down in only the 3rd over....Hobart only lost 2 in their whole innings lol!!!

I had the misfortune to see it live BH and apart from some good but ultimately pointless late hitting from Jhye Richardson which tidied up the scoreboard somewhat it was a dreadful performance. Bowling was all over the place, The fielding was terrible and the batting was hit and miss. You cant give a guy like D'Arcy Short 3 chances and expect to get away with it. Apart from Fawad Ahmed and Jordon the bowling was loose and gave the Hurricanes ample scoring opportunities. Matt Kelly is a very good shield bowler but he is too predictable and doesn't have enough variations to be a viable death bowler in 20/20.

181 was always going to be a tall order but there was a crying need for a recognised batsman to anchor the chase and allow the bashers to bat around him. You know, someone like Shaun Marsh …..oh yeah that's right, they didn't want to give him a 3 year contract.

Based on that I will give the Scorchers another 2 or 3 wins maybe and another wooden spoon unfortunately. How things have changed since the departure of Langer.

The irony of today was that we had match winning performances in different parts of the country by 2 young WA batsmen who the Scorchers have let go.

The Scorchers did manage to have another win last night albeit against the winless Renegades in Geelong, the highlight being the massive 6 by Livingstone that landed on the roof of the Kardinia Park Grandstand and bounce off out of the ground.

The hit or miss batting came off last night, particularly the opening partnership. Maybe Livingstone will not repeat that awful ramp shot that got him out against the Hurricanes, he has got so much power and potential to play match winning innings. The problem remains of the runs conceded in the "death" overs. 60 off the last 5 last night. Better teams than the Renegades will plunder the Scorchers bowlers mercilessly at the end unless they can get steady wickets during the rest of the innings. In the next game Brisbane Heat will be looking for revenge and I shudder to think what Banton, Lynn and Co will do if they are not removed early. Maybe its time to give young Aaron Hardie a go, he could hardly be more expensive than Kelly has been.

One thing they may avoid now is the wooden spoon as the Renegades look set to complete a riches to rags story. Now they will be losing their captain and best bowler to the ODI tour of India.

Losing Finch may actually work better for the Renegades Mike as S.Marsh should move up to open where he bats his best in T20 cricket, he has been lost a bit coming in at 3 or 4.

Good point BH, I was wondering why they hadn't used him as an opener as all his epic scores for the Scorchers came from that spot.

You have to wonder why they would recruit him on a big salary and then not bat him where he bats his best in that form of cricket Mike, I wonder if he was told he was going to bat at 3 or 4 when they signed him from the Scorchers where he had enormous success as an opener?
