Doesn’t seem to be a lot of rumours floating around this year. Leggett talk has gone cold. Missed on Masten due to no link to the club it seems.

Stokes, McCarrey, Daly and Pearton have gone off the list too mate....and since Henson left early, you might as well include the Schofield boys and Dion Anthony....the former four were all depth at best.....

I see Michael Cronan is back on EF list in the 99 jumper....either back to play or perhaps trying his luck elsewhere....had a tough run with injuries and concussion of late..

I feel for you on the Masten one KFC but no sympathy whatsoever on Leggett. WAFL clubs shouldn’t be trying to prize highly rated young players from a rival club starved of success. I understand players can fall out of love with their club and it’s up to us to convince him to stay beyond 2020 when he effectively becomes a free agent. Hopefully he has an outstanding 2020 in red and black and gets drafted. I certainly believe Cody is AFL material if he can improve certain aspects of his game.

But the Masten one highlights the fact once players finish a long AFL career they feel little or no loyalty or attachment to their former WAFL club. Even Clint Jones who won a premiership with Souths and was drafted as a mature aged player felt no sense of loyalty to Souths.

We’ve certainly felt that type of scenario at Perth several times over the years. The Daniel Bandy one hurt us the most I reckon at a time when we really needed a quality ruckman/forward. Then there was Robbie Haddrill and Sharrod Wellingham though the Wellingham one i could understand because EP were aligned with the Eagles at the time. As it turned out no great loss. Just our luck this time I guess but we were probably due some.

We need Masten like we need an arse on our elbow. We have had some real quality come back to the club in recent seasons - Big Griff, Strnadica, Jansen, Snadden and Jono Marsh. We have also picked up some great player's from other clubs too like Boekhurst, Manning Loersch,Davies and Kommer so no complaints from me. Leggott could be handy though so hopefully we can pick him up -but really why leave the best ground in the country and a team doing so well on the field?

Hear hear Ti Em...totally agree with you on Masten...EF have been lucky to gain a few ex AFL boys back over the years the ones you have mentioned plus others in S Dodd, Hadley, Kasey Green, Dalziell and Liam Anthony.....with producing so many AFL players over the years always going to be a case that some won't return....Read, Chick, Menagola, H Marsh, Fasolo, Swallow, B Dodd and Palmer.... that's footy .... Masten experience wise would of been handy.....but good for the comp he has returned regardless of where he went....seems like Perth were very keen with Jones retiring too...

I'm not sure where the Leggett rumour has come from- I heard we were chasing 2 from Perth- I assumed Tropiano was one. The fact that nothing has come out suggests we asked the question and missed out.

Anyone heard anything else??
