So the WACA era begins.....or does it?  Not sure this game will even get off the ground.....more injuries on top of injuries, with COVID on top for WCE. Last year was similar from memory,  in terms of EF getting a % boost over a weakened WCER side.....think Marsh had 7 by half time......

The Senior West Coast team have lost another 2 guys to COVID, Jackson Nelson and Alex Witherden along with 11 guys on the injury list so they will be dipping into their WAFL list again. Not sure where that leaves WCER in terms of player availability, do they still have a supplementary list for their WAFL team?
I would imagine the WCER will be able to cobble together some sort of team but this game will give EF a chance to build their percentage which will probably be crucial when it comes to finals spots. I guess for Sharks supporters it will be a nice change for them to be doing the thrashing although watching them at Bassendean a few weeks back I think there are much brighter times ahead for EF this year.

That's my worry with a stand alone WCER side....obviously  a great opportunity for EF to fill their % boots v a weakened WCER team.....doesn't make it fair though, because as you rightly say mikeh.....% could be the difference between one club playing finals and others not at the end of the year......WCE just need to abandon their ego and spread their players around the clubs, if no club wants to align with them.....

The game has now been Postponed to a later date due to WCE unable to field a side.

Your CEO just said that there was no communication with WCE about the possibility of the game not going ahead until 5pm tonight. What a disgrace!

The Eagles are an embarrassment. A pox on the competition. 4 seasons in the WAFL - they forfeited an entire season, threatened to withdraw before this season, and now cannot field a team. However, it makes me nervous as a Perth fan because there can be no doubt the Eagles will use these crises, not to eat humble pie and admit that they should revert to spreading players through the WAFL, but to press harder for an alignment. No prizes for guessing who is most vulnerable to that... what a shambles.

And not only that, this thing they laughingly call a "football commission" is also a bloody shambles!!

I feel sorry for East Fremantle who will now not play a game for 3 weeks due to the State team bye. What a joke our once great WAFL competition has become.
If the commission has any respect for the integrity of the competition they will disband this rabble, make their results so far null and void and allocate the WCER players to the 8 legitimate WAFL clubs on a reverse draft basis, but we all know the chances of that happening are 0%

Not sure if the COVID situation in the club is going to disappear miraculously within a week so I can't see them being in much different a situation next weekend. They are also riddled with injuries which is probably the main reason why the WAFL team is decimated.
