Given that Leggett was recruited as HB in order to enhance his draft chances, I would never have thought of playing him in the midfield.
Brilliant.

Why would a club recruit a player to enhance their draft chances? Leggett was recruited because he is good player - it did help that for some reason he wanted to get far away from Mineral Resources Park I will add. Wonder why that was?

Glen Mitchell thought the same Grump. Late in the game he said “Hasn’t done a lot today Cody Leggett”. No doubt kicking out from full back flatters his stats a little. Can’t ever remember him kicking out from full back in his career at Perth. But Bill knows better, he’s a premiership coach and took his former side into regular finals and grand finals.

I’ve got no doubt Cody will get a run on the ball this week or off half back with a license to run forward and kick that so far elusive first goal in blue and white colours so they can all get around him and feed off the energy like a shark frenzy.

Yep if you say so DF....LOL

DD...no doubt you rate Spalding highly as a coach....going on the last 40 years Spalding must be in the top 2-3 of Perth's coaches in your eyes....despite his spoon collection...out of interest mate who has been Perth's best coach since the 80's in your eyes....

probably has to be Wayne Blackwell but I'm sure Spalding would do better with a Jason Spinks and Winston Abraham running amok mate. Already this year early signs are good with two genuine key forwards and some extra grunt and experience in the midfield.

Mal Brown in 85-86 did a good job turning around Perth's fortunes but then as we all know what happened in 87 put a stop to the WAFL as we knew it full stop.
