As someone mentioned, next 2 games are massive.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens at the selection table- the players that came in were serviceable but you’d think Eardley, Kommer, Loersch, Ryan, Riach, Manning and Baskerville play if fit. The latter 2 are probably unlikely given they’ve only missed a week.

Loersch and Tucker both play Reserves and by all accounts- Tucker was impressive. With the emergence of Bailey and Bonomelli- Loersch would want to start playing more consistently. I’ll be watching closely to see if he comes straight in. Strnadica is nearly in the same boat- slow start to the year for him.

I’ll be making the trek to Leedy- expecting a dour struggle in a game the Sharks (and EP I guess) must win

Listening to the coach on Monday night on Sportsfm's WAFL World sounds like both Kommer and Eardley will be back this Saturday. I think he also stated Ambrose Ryan very likely to be available. Handy if Loersch is available. I would place him ahead of Bailey and Bonomelli. Bailey certainly much better against Peel after not touching the ball against South.

One would think Kommer and Eardley are straight ins to help combat EP very good midfield, especially with Robertson available for his EP debut...Kommer will be crucial in matching Robertson's midfield grunt...on paper Loersch looks more of a goal kicking threat then Bailey and Bonomelli...especially with Strnadica playing that forward / ruck role...is it going in to big with Loersch at FF, Strnadica in the pocket and Bonomelli at CHF? Not sure where Bailey plays though.

Manning surely will given another week off if Kommer and Eardley are back....is Tucker given another week in the reserves before the Perth game? Burton and Marshall surely are the casualties for Kommer and Eardley?...would like to see Monaghan give these two a decent run, but with only 22 spots someone/s gonna have to miss out.

Winnable game for both clubs, don't think EP will be as slow to start as they were v Perth last week, looks like they were gradually pegging Perth back as the game went on....

EP are Land of the Giants Freeze and yes got a few good midfielders. But they got big tall timber at both ends of the ground and in the ruck. Big solid lads. You’d expect they’d be better for the run from their first hit out. I think they only played one scratchie against Subi.

So Eardley, Kommer come into the team, Riach and Robinson into the squad. No Loersch - and Strnadica on a 8 man bench! Bailey named at CHF and Tassone holds his spot on a wing.

Milan MURDOCK Jarrad JANSEN Ryan LESTER-SMITH

Timothy BOCKMAN Lachlan BAILEY Nick KOMMER

Michael TASSONE Jordan SNADDEN Blaine BOEKHORST

Cody LEGGETT Matthew JUPP Morgan DAVIES

Dylan WINTON Jordan MILLS Cameron DAVIDSON

Followers
Jonathon GRIFFIN Thomas BENNETT Cameron EARDLEY

Interchange
Nicholas BONOMELLI Matthew BURTON Thomas MARSHALL Tom MONAGHAN
Max MURPHY Brodie RIACH Corey ROBINSON Luke STRNADICA

So who misses out?

Not sure why Tassone would miss, 16 and a goal was a pretty solid effort.

Bailey had 0 touches in Rd 1, FF2. I guess with 6 forced changes he held his spot and had 12 and kicked 2, serviceable I guess

Paint job looks great! Wonder how much the President charged the club for the job? I guess it would be mates rates eh?

Getting off track a bit there FF2? Hate to correct a veteran of the 1984 Grand Final side but not sure what you are on about with Bailey and no touches. He kicked a couple of goals last weekend - how do you do that without touching the ball?

Not sure if solid is the right word to describe Tassone. Was given a serve at 3rd quarter time by the coach - quite a few players were mind you. To his credit he did lift in the last term - they all did. Seems more an outside type of player - nothing wrong with that. For me he has been given plenty of time and the fruits of this have not exactly been spectacular. Perhaps it is time to give someone else a go in that link up outside role he has. Both Matthew Burton and Corey Robinson (who seem a bit more in and under than Tassone but are not going to dislodge the Eardleys, Kommers, Jansens and Bennetts) could be tried.

To combat EP height, one would think Strnadica and Bonomelli will play...with the rest fighting out for the remaining two spots....perhaps Strnadica is under an injury cloud?...can't see Bailey going up v Jones when Griff is resting, he will get hammered....thus the need of Bonomelli and/or Strnadica to chop out for Griff...plus try and kick a few goals....

I guess Loersch needs to kick a few before returning and Tucker will benefit from another run before the Perth game....ideally both players are in EF best 22.....Winnable game for both sides for sure.
