So they have now recruited Mcginnity and Wellingham for compensation for losing Keitel? Why should Claremont and Perth lose out for West Perths gain? And this Keitel must be one hell of a player!

I thought one of the rules of the alignment was the AFL aligned clubs were not allowed to recruit any ex AFL players from other WAFL clubs because obviously purely because of the alignment they have formed a natural relationship with that player and that in itself has to be an unfair advantage.

Just disgraceful.

I actually think Anchor makes a valid point....he'll be surrounded by his mates from WCE and familiar with coaches and support staff etc. I hear what you're saying from a Perth perspective but you can't blame him really. Hopefully Perth gets compensation but you wouldn't want a player forced to come to the club if he doesn't want to be there....just my opinion and could be wrong.

Im surprised,doesnt Wellingham think hes still got 2 or 3 years of top line AFL footy in him,thats what his manager said.

Maybe im odd but if that was me id be real dirty on West Coast for delisting me afterall i still think im capable at AFL level but here he is about to go to work for the club thats run by the club thats just sacked him?
I get why he didnt sign with us, we are just a basket case and i know that loyalty is a thing of the past.

It's good that he his going to a Club that needs him and that can have WCE pay for him.

What the player wants? Yes I think that is a crucial consideration at the national draft, very important in footy.

I'm sure that East Perth would have been able to offer Wellingham a much better financial deal than Perth would have been able to. No criticism of the player as he has to make a living and is entitled to do the best deal for himself. However this situation highlights the gap between the "haves" and the "have nots" in the WAFL which is making the competition so predictable and eroding peoples interest.

Mikeh if EPFC can make $500k profit every year I wonder who pays their staff and dare I say players.

The equalisation promised by the WAFC will work wonderfully except nothing will change for WCE & Fremantle.

The only concern here is EP not being in the top 3.
