the game East Perth lost against Perth which cost them a finals place contained the following players:
McGinnity
Anderson
Blee
Wellingham
Schofield
Giles
Masten
they had all that experience and still lost to the bottom side, anyone falling for this experience needed rubbish is brainwashed by WAFC and the AFL clubs.

Does that mean that every AFL listed player, who plays for Peel or EP can not say that they want to stay there to continue their football career!!!!
Does that mean they will have to sign a piece of paper to say they wont!!!!
The lawyers will have a field day.
Like all here I don't know the answer, but the above is certainly not the way to go.
And I will reserve my right, regardless of whether I go to WAFL games to have my say.

Even your beloved AFL competition has an equalisation policy, but our supposed custodians the WAFC of the WAFL competition just sits and does nothing ....

The other issue is Anchor remember we the WAFL lovers reserve our right to have our say in your beloved AFL competition. That might mean that our views are sometimes not going to be similar to yours so suck it up....

I have never ever said that you don't have the right to have your opinion. But Mark Olsen doubted that I should be allowed to comment due to my non appearance at WAFL games.I am defending myself against an attack on my knowledge of the game. The fact that MO doesn't follow the AFL , by his reckoning, shouldn't be allowed to comment on the AFL, but he does.Tell MO to suck it up Dwert.I am prepared to have my say, but resent the fact that some who are supposedly more knowledgable in football general talk try to belittle me.
Am I not allowed to defend myself against an attack like that!!!!
Dwert in regards to the equalisation policy in the AFL, it is money wise where the rich help get the poor out of the shit.Clubs that have been moneyless since before the Eagles went into the VFL.It no way similar to the WAFL situation.

I think you and I will need to agree to disagree on this one Anchor. Yours and my opinion are miles apart....

Gee Giles is a dinosaur at any level of footy....Schofield is gone as a footballer, whilst Masten aint interested in WAFL footy.....that leaves McGinnity, Blee, Anderson and Wellingham.....reckon MO SD had more experience in their line up than EP that day with Ames, Notte, Bennell, Banfield, Riggio, Howard and Faulkner.....all players who bleed black n white through years of association with the club....unlike Giles, Schofield and Masten at EP...hopefully with Wellingham CHOOSING to go to EP he will help the EP youngsters develop.

I guess all those AFL youngsters playing along side these experienced guys aren't as good as recruits as people make them out to be then..freebie or not...if Perths youngsters can run rings around them.....thus the greater need for EP to have some say who they wish to recruit to the club and not WCE. All this song and dance about Wellingham going to EP, it's one player of EP own choice...big bloody deal...everyone seems to think because they are freebies, these young draftees are actually any good.....and EP are handed top notch recruits through the draft.....look at Bennell and Main...did fark all at EP, yet when delisted and went back to SD and SF respectively of their own choosing..... suddenly became better players......how many of these EP freebie AFL recruits actually want to wear the EP jumper or give a toss or even heard about the EPFC?......

This whole topic started out on a matter of principle being that there were supposed to be restrictions on how many players EP could recruit from outside their zones.
The Wellingham signing was permitted through a concession EP was granted because of the transfer of Keitel to West Perth which should have been a normal WAFL transfer procedure.
I don't have a problem if Wellingham had been signed by Subiaco, West Perth or any other G7 club
What I do have a problem with is the WAFC changing rules midstream to appease their AFL masters.

exactly Smokey, the changing rules of the WAFC is the issue some are unable to grasp on here.
they are too busy rattling on about experience and player choice..
both irrelevant points to the actual issue.

You don't have a problem with other G7 clubs signing Perth's AFL delisted players...making them stronger and Perth weaker......yet you cry for equalization from the WAFC?....show me the consistency in that argument?....all the G7 clubs finished above Perth this year and have done so for years....but that's ok for those clubs to poach Perth's players, but not EP? Why?

Thought the real problem is how many AFL aligned boys are allowed to play each game and how many games they need to play for finals footy....reduce those numbers and then of course EP and Peel are going to have to bring in players from else where.....especially if other clubs are recruiting their original AFL delisted guys or mid tier guys....Riggio, Kommer, Wilson, Wytick, Clutterbuck, Higgins, Omodei, Keitel et al

It's irrelevant using the argument that EP get all these freebie recruits as why they shouldn't be allowed to recruit.....how many times did folk whinge, when their club was MADE to play an aligned player over a more well deserved local player.....farking countless......no different for EP......they get dumped these freebie recruits, told how many minutes they play, where they need to play..some of them are useless show no heart etc...fark cut them some slack with being able to recruit one measely "out of zone" recruit of their own choice each year......it's no biggie!

you better speak to the WAFC, they are the ones who come up with the rules that keep changing.
I know you havnt quite grasped that point but that is the issue.

Too true MO. There are 100 comments so far on this topic and too many right off the subject matter.
Delisted AFL players not returning to their original WAFL club is a fact of life. Look at how many have gone to other clubs already this off season. After tomorrow's draft there will probably be a few more.
This whole thing is nothing to do with equalisation of the WAFL competition. It is about the WAFC looking after their masters first and grass roots football second. It will get worse.

Didn't realize there was only one underlying issue here as to why Wellingham became a Royal?....would of thought there were variety of underlying issues related to the topic....all different and worthy of each other....well not in some esteemed eyes it seems......

if the WAFC were really looking after their masters by constantly changing the goal posts, than lets get Wilson, Loersch and Riggio back to Peel to boost their 3peat and the likes of Kommer, Keitel, Clutterbuck, Wytik et al back to EP then...to help EP back into finals footy.....esp since they have lost players of the ilk in Mitchell, Giles, Petrie, Lamb, Snadden, Tunbridge, Hill and Gorter over the off season.....surely the signing of Wellingham equalizes any of those losses....
