I just wish that Capes was as good at his job at East Fremantle as he is at Subiaco.

Capes no doubt "bought" into the "culture" and "trained" harder for his similar role at Subi Oolll!

Yes, a winning percentage of 37 in his time at EF. Obviously, the players in that era were unfit and uncommitted and Capes was surrounded by incompetents. He has found his niche at Subi, where his excellence can shine and inspire others, on and off-field. Well, he has his chance to show us his outstanding list management skills. Up until now, Subi, unencumbered by financial restraints, have simply got the players they want (even if contracted elsewhere) by offering lots of money, secure in the knowledge they would never be outbid. Points set at 120 has achieved nothing because Subi alone can afford the amount of high point players needed to reach (or indeed exceed) the points cap. So let's look at Clarke. If Subi want him, they can have him, but they have to let another 12 point player go. Finally, a real decision to be made, rather than just flashing the cash. Let Marsh go to EF and Clarke is all yours.

Only problem with that argument is that Subi dont have any existing 12 point players to give up so therefore Zac Clarke is unable to rejoin us after a year in the AFL. The result of this could be he joins another wafl club or he could decide to stay in victoria . Harry Marsh is a 10 point player because he hadnt played 100 games at afl level.

I especially loved his rant about how they only bought in 4 new recruits in 2018-
Newton (SF, Port & Melb)
Clarke (Freo, EP, Peel)
Rohde (WP)
Fullgrabbe (WP)
Seemingly forgot about- Fletcher (EF), Ehler brothers (CL), Cleggett (Collie), Atkinson (PE)

But that was to replace those who had left-
Twomey (SD)
Ryan (Gero/EF)
Adamson (EP)
Hancock (EF)
Jackson (Collie)
Baker (WP)
Essentially players they had taken in the years beforehand, there were others they had recruited from other WAFL clubs he didnt list as well like Nelson (SD), Parry (SD).

But yes I take the point that Claremont would probably have the strongest area by far.

Take your point there BH , but just looked at the premiers since 2000 and in that time ( had to start somewhere) Claremont have 5 premierships SF 4 Swans and East Freo 3 Peel and East Perth 2 Subi 1 and none to Perth and West Perth. This in some small way shows that this comp is not even either as i said there are problems with zoning that are not easy to solve and maybe a draft system is needed to create some equalisation over a period of time.

if Subi's zones are so bad how did they win a colts flag in 2018 ?
and since 2014 they have won 2 reserves flags and made the finals every year so that would indicate they have good depth and isnt that depth from their local zones ?

Ah so that explains it - of course he would have bought into it, there is no way he brought it with him. He must now get exhausted having to watch players who want to train longer but harder as well.

Not too sure where the Caped Crusader goes from here in his next career move - with his work ethic, excellence, list management skills, overseeing premierships whilst lacking playing depth and having a ruckman who can barely win a hit out, seeing off tough challenges from whatever opposition on a weekly basis and undisputed arrogance he will be well placed for his next role.

Perhaps the GM of the New York Yankees is a role that beckons - whatever it is (with his unlimited capacity for hard work) the sky is the limit.
