Oooll....touch wood Durnthaler makes a comeback then to reign in Subi's WAFL dominance by lowering their bar of excellence. 58 understand completely folks concern regarding the current plight of the WAFL.....as for idea's to reign it in?....geez now there is the million dollar question....perhaps send Wiley there to weave his magic.....or track down Dunbar perhaps.....just felt SF were more to blame then Subi today for todays result...if that means I'm a Subi apologist than so be it.....

Subi putted along in second gear for most of the season and still got the job done by 10 goals most weeks. Don't forget in the second semi they were 52p up before going into self-preservation mode and letting Souths kick a few cheap ones at the end. In a GF, where they don't have to worry about injuries, it was inevitable they would go hard from start to finish, and 96p accurately portrays the gulf in class between Subi and the rest. BC, I will post on this on the General Chat thread, but don't think it's just a handful of cranks on Ozfooty who have a concern about how to rein Subi in. The commentators on the ABC seemed genuinely concerned.

As a neutral supporter to today’s game, I agree totally BC.

I think it is the wrong mindset ‘how to reign Subi in’.
Surely the thought and discussion should be about how to raise standards of our own clubs and strive to reach level of professionalism and performance.

Anyway, congrats to Subi and supporters. Another superb season setting the bar even higher.

Cheers Baseline. TN don't forget that Souths had 2 pretty tough games in the last 2 weeks so would have been a bit sore whilst Subi had 1 game in a month. I also don't think Schloithe was 100% as he spent a lot of time in the forward half isolated in one on one's rather than in the midfield. Souths also had quite a few young blokes who would have been as nervous as hell whereas our boys have been there done that. There's a number of reasons why Souths were so poor but for mine, there was a lot to like about our blokes as well.

Baseline, the way other clubs can raise their standards to match Subi would be to generate about 4 times as much income as they have over the last number of years. Perhaps you can let us know how to do that?

Interesting and very apt comments from Middlemas. Also interesting that the ABC commentators were saying that they had hoped last year's 81 point grand final win might be a wake up call, but clearly not. I am very defeatist about the future of the WAFL, but there might be some hope if objective, respected media figures are decrying how Subi have been allowed to ride roughshod over the comp.
