Of course, I will be happy to apologise if this is not the case.

Well I was partly right. I was thinking 50 to 55 point win, certainly not a hundred.
Anyway, the missus would like to thank Subi. I turned the carnage off before half time and went out to do some gardening.

Match review: First: the season. This was a season where only 4 games and 50% separated 1st from 2nd. A year where it took fully two-thirds of the season for Subi to sew up top spot. So after such a year of twists and turns, we needed a fitting finale.

Souths came out firing and matched Subi blow for blow for the first 6 minutes of the game. From there, Subi worked their way on top, managing to extend their lead at every change. But Souths weren't giving up. They kept coming, but were unable to secure the 17 goals needed to wrest back the lead. Given the renowned Bulldog fighting spirit, not one Subi fan would have felt comfortable with their buffer until the dying minutes. At the end of two hours of bruising, no holds barred footy, only 96 points separated the two combatants. It was one of those games where you wish there didn't have to be a loser. Unfortunately it was Souths, but the roles could so easily have been reversed.

interesting folk are just pointing the finger at Subi for todays GF result....geez not sure how SF escape ridicule after that pathetic, half hearted, weak as piss effort today...not sure where money came in to it....Schloithe, Suban, Main, Shaw, Wilson, Higgins et al aren't WAFL muppets by any standard.....but 3 goals in a game of footy is deplorable, it's not as though Subi dicked them through out the season....SF actually beat Subi from memory....and in the losses they did have pretty sure SF kicked more than 3 goals in those losses....Subi did what any good team do.....yeah its frustrating, but not as frustrating as SF gormless effort today.....takes two to tango.

Well mate, if as you have pointed out (as if you can't wait to jump in to be the Subi apologist on most things, perhaps Durnthaler going there has something to do with it) and South have been the only team to have beaten them (once) in 2 seasons - and then South cop a right royal pumping (to the tune of near on a 100 points) and it is all about culture and raising the bar (and South being ordinary on the day) then not sure who your tangoing with.
I do not agree that the state of the WAFL is about the alleged "SF gormless effort today"...

What a superb effort by a very disciplined team. Our skills were sublime, intensity first class and endeavour to carry out the game plan and to work for each other was first class. Souths were very disappointing. I thought they would come out and have a real crack but they were like deer in the headlights. The only act of aggression was that turd Suban having a go at Wheeler's face. They turned the ball over very easily and lacked poise and polish. But with a result like that, it's not about the opposition, it's all about the victor and Subi were just brilliant. I'm not going to name who I thought was our best as it was a team performance but special mention and thanks to Clanger who looks like he's announced his retirement. A terrific servant of the club and getting out while on top. All in all a wonderful season for the club and an outstanding result today. No doubt the usual whinge brigade will make their presence felt on here but hey, right at this minute I couldn't give a shit. Glory glory Subiaco.

Fuc, all i can say, well done Lions. I thought WP effort last year was terrible and boots were kicked into WP by some members on this forum for our performance. Souths are better than what was displayed today.

You’re right about the result being more about the SF effort or lack of than Subi’s. I’m not sure everyone is damning Subi, but more the WAFC for their Nero like approach to a major problem.
Surely freeze, you must be concerned about the state of the game in WA? At this stage going forward, only Subi, WC and Freo can win the flag over the foreseeable future. Not blaming Subi, but they have to be reigned in....somehow.

Yeah your not fooling anybody mate. So sad that you can’t really enjoy a premiership but if you truly were enjoying yourself you would be a psychopath.

I had the pleasure of watching the full game today - thanks 7Plus. It was most enjoyable to watch a highly skilled and committed team in full flight, even against some pretty average opposition.

I also have a certificate from my psychologist stating I am perfectly sane.

How about you, StT?

Souths beat Subi by 22 points in round 6 and kicked 12 goals...they then get beaten by 33 and 34 points by Subi during the season and second semi and kick 8 and 10 goals. Today they kick 3. Surely all the finger pointing and accusations of a lop sided affair should be directed at the Bulldogs for not turning up today and getting thumped by the their biggest losing margin of the season. Purists of the game would have enjoyed the performance of the Lions today...clinical, well drilled and hard working...only whingers would look beyond Souths and have a crack at Subi for demolishing the second best team in the comp.

I bet you couldn't prove it.

What a stupid statement. So who checks the psychologists state of mind.
