Subiaco were in the mid 80s winning %, SF, WP, EP & Peel in the 50% Range, CL, SD & EF were in the 40% Range & Perth about the 30% mark.
That is also including 2 GFs Subiaco lost to Peel so their record in home and away games would probably be even higher.
How is that good for a close, exciting, vibrant WAFL competition?
And also why on earth have Subiaco even needed to top up an already strong list whilst also weakening their direct opposition...didn’t they even win the Ressies flag last year?

This is why.....

Out: Liam Ryan (West Coast), Brayden Ainsworth (West Coast), Kyron Hayden (North Melbourne), Ben Miller (Richmond), Liam Baker (Richmond), Fraser Foley (West Perth), James Garcia (Travelling), Matthew Bogensperger (Work), David Madut (Victoria), Wayde Twomey (Retired), Adam Creeper (Kingsway), Liam Catalfamo, James Eccles (North Beach), Daniel Ryan (North Beach), Sean Foley (North Beach), Chad Barns (Kingsway), Declan Jackson (Work), Chris Bryan (North Beach), Dylan Clarke, Jordan Bestry (Kingsway), Joshua Chapman (North Beach), Thomas Hooper (North Beach), Joshua Underwood (North Beach)

Turn it up BC, most of those players are frustrated reserves players heading back home to their original clubs, not regular WAFL League players. Who the f*&$ is Liam Catalfamo ???

mikeh wrote: I think Grumps post has summed this issue up very well. It is the history of domination ( on field and off field) of the competition by Subiaco that has gone on pretty well unchallenged for many years which then perpetuates itself with ex AFL players such as Zac Clarke getting mutliple offers from WAFL clubs choosing Subiaco because of the better renumeration and promise of team success. Great for Subiaco but then people will invariably switch off becuase of the predictabilty of results. Just keep in mind that if Peel hadn't loaded up their team with AFL players in the last 2 grand finals, Subiaco would now be inevitably heading for their 5th consecutive flag and who knows how many more they will win. That to me is not a healthy sign of a proper competition where fans need to have some hope that their team has a chance to win a flag on a level playing field. I don't think any of the G6 clubs would deep down think that they have this opportunity any time soon. I don't blame Subiaco for taking advantage of their situation. It is the WAFC that has been asleep at the wheel and reduced the WAFL to a sham competition. The AFL has an equailisation policy, why not the WAFL?

100% spot on Mike, the big underlying concern is not so much the fans not turning up because the predictability but the PLAYERS. I have heard that a number of quality players have already left or are considering moving on due to the $ubi domination and the opportunity of winning a flag is near on no chance.

Interesting list there BC!
Those I highlighted were either poached from other WAFL clubs or their zones- Twomey, Baker, Jackson and or played on Saturday for Subiaco or are listed in the Football Budget for Subi....so not sure how reliable anything you post is...do you even watch your own supposed team play?
Also how many of those listed above are still appearing on Subi's listed players on the WAFL site it would appear most of them still are so are effectively still Subiaco players?

OOPS !!!

BC wrote: all of this stuff is fair enough but what we all miss is that Subi is supposed to operate on the same rules as everyone else so lets have a detailed forensic audit of their books and everything that goes with it...almost like a legal discovery exercise to put this crap to bed once and for all. I worked for PwC and EY for 17 years and if there's stuff happening outside the norm then these guys will find it.... there will be emails or notes somewhere that will point the finger. If they're found to be cheating then the club should be punished big time with everything that goes with it, if not then you lot should just accept the club has lifted the WAFL to a new level, get better and move on.

BC,

Brilliant summation, I reckon that is all we are asking. Go through the place with a fine tooth comb and it will give us the answers we have all been waiting for, salary cap breaches to the highest order. The thing is the flags will already be in the bank as they won't take them off them down the track.

Yes but if Subi is found to be cheating they'll be tainted flags and not worth a pinch of pigeon poop. if on the other hand, there's no sign of any wrong doing then it'll make the achievements over the last few years even more meritorious and shut all you hyenas up. :silly: and hey...lets not just restrict it to Subi...let's have a look at all clubs while we're at it.

yeh, considering the Compliance and Governance Manager at the WAFL is the former Subi footy manager Subi's chance of getting audited are as likely as their supporters admitting they dont use their money to their advantage to pay players to weaken other clubs.

So the talk in Subi quarters is that players leave because of lack of opportunity rather than lack of being able to fit in the "Salary cap*"

lol friggin' lol …

* make that the "special" Subi salary cap ...
