Thanks Freezin: We had our chances to win the game particularly in the last quarter. Next week will be hard and we could be out in straight sets as they say. If that happens I will return to my familiar complaint about our inability to recruit a ruckman, which has been going on for years. Could it cost us two flags in a row? I have got no idea why they refuse to play Stevenson.

Yep cant complain about the free kick stats we won that comfortably but what the umps didn't do was protect the ball players on both sides so a number of boys did get hurt and caused massive frustration in the players hence a few reports especially as a result of Dawson's complete dog act in taking out the smallest player on the field. Clanger went in the book after relentless niggling , very disappointed that he let himself and his team mates down as we will need everyone available next week.

Well the farce is complete, Peelmantle who finished 3rd, some 8 games behind Subi, after loading up with some experienced AFL talent easily accounted for the WAFL's dominant team of recent times. They played relentless pressure footy, tackled hard within an inch of the rules and their talls absolutely shredded us. Their ability to run hard and flood all day was telling and the difference in the end against the fittest and physically strongest of the real WAFL teams.

To Subi's credit we never gave up even with, at times 2 guys down on the bench, the efforts of Dela, Kitch and Cockie were fantastic, Cockie & Kitchen more than matched the big Freo bodies as they went in hard again and again, They were absolutely spent at the end of the game as were the rest of the team. Subi made a charge at the end of the 3rd and beginning of the last but wasted opportunities that would have put some serious scoreboard pressure on Peelmantle. Interestingly Peelmantle went the full inside 50 flood for most of the last qtr, all18 players were inside Subi's 50m arc, classic Ross Lyons footy making Subi's attacks very difficult while having no intent on scoring themselves. It eventually wore Subi down and peelmantle snagged a couple of easy ones towards the end. At times Subi were 6 goals down but got it back within 2 goals early in the last but that's as close as Peelmantle let us get. they were just doing what they needed to keep us at bay.

Apart from Dela, Cockie, & Kitchen, I thought joyce had one of his best games for us, his disposal was very good and his run was telling whenwe made a charge at Freo. The backs did their best against a much bigger and stronger Freo forward line, Sokol and Ryan did their best up in a very crowded forward line but liam Ryan was continually blocked from the marking contest which the umps seemed oblivious to.

After Souths walk in the park win over Swans and Subi's massively physical contest v Peelmantle it makes next weeks prelim a 505/50 contest. Kennedy looked to have done his shoulder again, Liam Baker was carried off after being taken out by that dog Dawson, but in a great show of courage he came back on late in the last so hopefully he'll be right for next week. Horse got through the game ok but was a bit rusty, and Clanger will have a nervous wait for the tribunal, would not be surprised if he gets a week, as for Dawson if he doesn't get rubbed out for 2+ weeks there should be an investigation.

A battered Subi and what should be a relatively fresh Souths will go at it next Sunday while the 15 Freo lads that played today will have 2 weeks of AFL rehab and medical support and no jobs to hold down, the Souths and Subi boys will have 1 week of working for a crust while trying to get some rehab in between.

Oh well it is what it is, but next weeks prelim is the WAFL Grand final so encourage all WAFL supporters to get along to Leederville to watch what should be a great contest, then boycott the sham that will be the following weeks fixture.

Can anyone tell me how it can be that Subi finishes 7 games ahead of the chunder and Souths 4 and yet we both get knocked off in consecutive weeks? I'll tell you how...the incompetent and piss weak WAFC make qualification rules which are so easy on the AFL aligned clubs that it makes the whole year a farce and threatens the integrity of the WAFL. I can imagine Subi's players going off to work tomorrow wondering what's the point while Freo goes down to world class facilities and starts recovery with highly paid sports scientists and coaches and begin planning for the GF...it's an absolute fucking joke.

Agree BC, so what we have is the real GF next weekend after that who cares as no one will get within coo-ee of of Peelmantle given they have had 2 solid work outs so far and will be significantly better for it in a fortnight.

also Jordy Lockyer could be in strife for a whack on Dawson. I didn't see what Dawson did to him but Lock gave him a big whack to the side of the head or neck region. It was off the ball and none of the umps saw it but it will probably be on video.

This is a dead set fkn disgrace. How can a fkd out club like peelmantle be allowed to fill up their fkd out team with AFL players come finals time. in 30 yrs time, people will read the records and see this fkd out "club" won 5,6,7 or so flags in a row and think they must have been a mighty club. Well done WAFC you bunch of mindless twits.
