It'll be interesting to see who gets a gig this week. Surely Clanger won't get an instant recall after so much time out. If he's fit he'd be better off going through the 2's as we can't take chances against a team chock full of full time professional athletes. Justin Joyce and Matera must be a chance and of course Horse will come straight back in. I didn't like the report on here of Corey Adamson being in a moon boot at Freo on Saturday. Hopefully it was a case of mistaken identity as I don't recall him getting hurt against WART but I guess it could have been a training mishap. Also Rohan Powell must be doubtful after getting knocked out in the ressies. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see but if Buddy Boy or similar has some up to date mail that would be good.

BC if Peel beating South was considered a farce by many. What would a Subiaco victory in this match be in your eyes. I think Peel will play much better this week, I thought the game on Saturday was a very soft finals match. If Liam Ryan fires up you should have no fears.

BC Joyce, Garcia, Matera and Parry were all good but young Ainsworth was the pick of the bunch, 23 touches and 2 goals plus his last qtr pack marking was vital in the win. Would be massive step up for him to play against a mostly AFL list but if he succeeds the scouts will be clamoring for his moniker. The weather will dictate a lot of the selections if its wet the Freo talls will be less important, we play a much different style to Souths, much more physical and contested which should match up better against Freo, but we must take our chances as they will be limited, cant afford our usual inaccuracy.

If Freo get away with the obvious illegal scragging tactics they got away with in last years GF then Ryan and all our forwards will struggle. If the Umps are on their game and have both eyes open then it will be a great contest and no excuses.

cheers SS...I wouldn't think Schowey would risk young Ainsworth against FART...but you never know I guess.

Ainsworth was named four or so times in the back half of the year but never got a gig. Might have been a handy introduction back then. Maybe Schoey will do a Bunts and debut the kid in the Grand Final. Wasnt that 1985? Backfired I recall and he never went on with it... Who was that? Reid maybe?

Pretty sure that was Langdons 4th league game but not sure if it was his only finals game that year, anyway it was a bloody good year.

I'm pretty sure we wont see Clang this week but if we get rolled he will be a big chance to play in the sudden death prelim.

SS -- I reckon you are right on Langdon, now that you mention it. It was a good year, enjoyed winning by a big margin given what happened the previous year. It is funny, because over the years, I have come around to the idea that we should have won in 1985 as well.

Crutchfield got caught by a magnificent tackle by big Lockyer which, alon side bad kicking for goal cost us the secon semi in 1985, and, in the grand final that year, we were five gaols up at quarter-time and kicked badly for goal, once again.
