this was the squad from the 2nd semi...any changes do we think or will they go in unchanged? there might be some thought about bringing Bradley back in to help combat their abundance of talls as it looks like it's going to be fine next Sunday.

It also reinforces the ducks and drakes teams play as Kennedy, Bradley and Sokol all named in the starting 18 back then and none of them actually played.

B H Kennedy D Jackson A Heal
HB D Leishman J Lockyer W Twomey
C K Horsley L Kitchin B Mahoney
HF B Robinson C Wheeler B Sokol
FF L Ryan H Shepheard L Delahunty
F S Bradley G Broughton C Phelan

Int. A Cockie, S Moore, C Bryan, C Hoskins, J Latham, W Fetherstonhaugh, R Waters, B Stevenson

I just posted this on the FART thread but thought it more appropriate on here....its just a few thoughts on shutting down their mids...IMO Schoey will roll Mahoney, Kitch and Fez at various times through DeBoer and Blakeley. For mine Blakely is the one they need to shut down as he had 6 inside 50s yesterday from 42 touches...so he's not only getting a lot of it but has doing something with it as well. His kick to handball ratio is about the same and he only laid 1 tackle compared to DeBoer's 10...so Blakely is more attacking and needs to be given a hard tag. Tucker Deluca and O'Brien also need to be shown respect but I think we can sort them out around the stoppages with a team defence...Blakely is a bit of a different story for mine.

BC, a couple of things, not sure I'd bring Bradley in, despite brads being a real soldier for us while Dela was out, I think we need lots and lots of run, spread the ball and get Dela and Clang to make their talls work really hard around the ground.

Watching the prelim the times when Souths were able to get on top was when they got in the freo players faces and got physical, these primdonnas don't like that from a bunch of uppity WAFL blokes and they showed a lack of discipline, especially Clarke and Silvani, so I'd be getting Shep to go at Silvani from the first bounce, Shep plays so much better when he's angry.

We will need to start much better than in the 2nd semi after watching Peels start on Sunday or we could find ourselves down by 4 or 5 very quickly, a good way to do that is to get very physical from the first bounce, target Deboer, Mzungu and ROB with big tackles & side bumps, guys like Clang, Horse, Kitch and particularly AC can make a statement that will have all our blokes up and about from the 1st siren and get the freo boys to lose some focus. The other thing is to take our chances, our conversion rate has been poor especially in the first half for most of the season.

Cant see any changes to the 2nd semi team unless there's a training injury so fingers crossed for a good tough hard game of footy with us winning by a point or 2 with a Liam Ryan kick after the siren.

BC, Blakely is a massive possession gatherer but his disposal is far from elite, he got a heap of it but missed a lot of targets. Don't think Schoey will go too defensive, we have a very clear game plan that's served us well all season and twice beaten Freo, the only one we lost was the farcical relocated game where we lost a clear home ground advantage and missed out by only a couple of points. But this Peelmantle team is a different beast altogether.

I think you're right SS...I'd be very surprised if Schoey made any changes to the 22 who did the business last week. I'm also predicting a huge one from Broughto...just out of the AFL system and an experienced campaigner ...I reckon this game will suit him down to the ground as a rebounding defender/midfielder type.

I think Shep still sleeps with the lights on don't let the tats fool you. But agree you can't let Silvagni take ten marks in the backline. Tag him if necessary, also Deboer and Blakley are the ones that can win it for Peel.

Nice little dig but completely factual and above board, but the first sentence does say Peel Thunder. Like the bit about being underdogs for the first time in a couple of seasons, that will get moreso as the week progresses, already seeing it in the betting odds. So that means Peelmantle have all the expectation and everything to lose, we have nothing to lose and nothing left to prove which should free up the players nicely for a more relaxed and positive start to the game.

I have had two bets on Subi. 40-59 $12 and 60+ $26.
