well...here we go against a team of full time professionals. Granted some are towards the end of their AFL careers and some are just starting it...but the thing that gets me about FART is that they don't appear to have any spuds like the previous times we've played them in the last couple of years. just about every one of them is a rock solid WAFL level footballer with a couple of standouts as well such as Apeness, Blakely, De Boer and so on. I reckon the Subi team of last year with Menegola, Yarran, Boland, Rumble, Deluca, Wortho etc would probably have been good enough but I just can't see our 2016 version getting over a team with 17 AFL players plus a Sandover Medallist...maybe I'm being overly pessimistic but I just have a feeling we're going to lose....not by much but lose we will....I think.

I hope you're right gtr....considering it's being played on the wide expanses of Subi Oval and FART will have had 3 finals in 3 weeks to Subi's 1, I'm hoping they do run out of puff a bit but they're also full time professional athletes so if they don't have the endurance at this time of the season then the Dockers S & C staff need horse whipping.

Subis tall defenders will match up well with Peels forwards. Also heard East Perth players watching Subi at training saying there training drills are far more intense than any other Wafl clubs.Last year you took the game to a higher level late in the 2nd qtr.Left WP for dead.If you play at that level again you will run Peel over later in the game.

If Subi play there best footy they are more than capable of beating Peel.

I like many others on here are hoping for a much fairer format for 2017, but for the last game in 2016 I just hope Subi turn up and make this a contest.

If Subi turn up with some aggression for the ball and are willing to compete for 4 quarters I see no reason as to why they cant push them all the way. Need to make a statement from the opening bounce though that they are here to compete and put a little bit of fear back into the Peel camp.

Can only hope that its not like the last two finals against WP & SF, as neither have been a great advertisement for WAFL footy or the alignment.

good posts on here, all of which motivated me to write. Whatever happens, our mid field have no excuses as they are all experienced league footballers, some of whom, in fact, have played more football than their Peel counterparts.

What i would like to see them do is play a back-pocket/sweeper in between centre-half-forward and full-forward to stop Peel kicking for space towards our goal. Unfortunetlly this nonsense has crept into our game -- as opposed to forwards leading up to the midfield -- but, it is not hard to stop. Over to you Schofield

Poor old Subi I feel sorry for you. Your in this match up to your eyeballs. I bet your players have absolutely zero fear going into this contest.

yes....I think it will be physical...they've got some big bodies but so do we. Hamish Shep, Declan Jackson, Clancy Wheeler, Jordy Lockyer and then there's the human tank...Adam Cockie. so I don't think we'll get pushed around but agree...hit 'em hard and hit 'em early and see which Freo player starts to think about next season and takes a backward step.
