Hats off to subi, only team I’ve seen in a long time get dominated all day and still win the free kick count.
Highlight of the day the umpire blowing his whistle at the stoppage late and a heap of Subi blokes put there hand up for the free, they all assumed they would get a free as why wouldn’t they, kitchen won the raffle.

What a gracious winner you are MO. Free kick count 18 to 16 Subi's way...hardly a deciding factor.

Just stating the obvious, now the 4th umpire Horsley is at WC it must be kitchen who takes over when a goal is needed

bc i have noticed over several years three teams getting less free kicks then others.subi, peelmantle and east perth when aligned with west coast.i doubt things have improved since we left the alignment.one team that seems to be the umps friend is west perth.i think they had ten more free kicks then the tigers today.

BC - you mentioned the umpires in your post on the game and said they did a good job even tho there was some decisions you didn’t agree with, all I did was point out you won the free kick count despite getting throughly outplayed in general play and 2 of your 3 goals in the last quarter to make the game close we’re gifted to you.
Hate to see Subi get a bad run from the umps if you thought today was just ok

Yes Chaddy.  I went through an exercise of tallying frees for to frees against each week over a season a few years ago when Subi were dominating the comp and it was very clear that we were getting the wrong end of the stick along with the 2 aligned clubs and WP were the umps favourite.   The 2016 GF was probably the worst example when the count was 19 to 6 in Peel's favour and I think we received only 2 free kicks after qtr time.  It was a bit of a running joke back then but I can't really be bothered these days, but yes, your observations can be borne out by stats.

How does Subi getting more possessions and inside 50s translate to being "thoroughly outplayed"?  Yes I agree SD deserved the win and in general were the better side on the day but you won by a point notwithstanding losing important stats counts...hardly thoroughly outplaying Subi I would have thought.  But hey, if it makes you feel better.

As I said on the Swans thread, well done to Swans who deserved the win and should have won by more if they had converted better.

We were ordinary, part made to look so by a very good Swans and part our own doing. We continue to overuse the footy, one or two handballs too many that continually put blokes under pressure. Our normally precise kicking was also ordinary, continually over players heads or no where near them whereas Swans were far more precise. We bombed it into the forward 50m time and again right into the hands of Notte and co, don't we know that Notte is arguably the best overhead mark in the comp. There was no attempt to go around these guys or take them away from play. We generated more than enough inside 50's to have won the game but butchered entry after entry. Comprehensively out marked around the ground, their two ruckman particularly Germ, were very good especially marking around the ground. The fact that we almost stole the game late in the last is more to do with Swans not converting as they should have hence leaving the door open plus they looked a bit gassed in the later part of the last. If Swans continue to play like that they will have a say in September, if we continue to play like that, we wont. Apart from last years fake season, it's a while since we lost 2 in a row in the H & A season. We are or can be a very good team but are currently a shadow of the team of 14-15 & 18-19. There are some good lads in the 2's who should be looked at, particularly Golding who would be getting a game at most other clubs, he is a ready made league level mid and should be picked in our next game. We desperately need to find an good experienced ruckman, someone to go with the big blokes that most other teams have, ie 202-203cms and 105kgs +. Putt will be good but he's still a kid as far as ruckmen go and Dela is far more useful as a proper mid or wingman.

Peelmantle next down as Used Syringe Stadium, we had better lift our game or will be looking at 3 losses in a row.

It’s irrelevant how many possessions you get and inside 50’s it’s what you do with the ball when you get it.
For swans to generate 6 more scoring shots from less inside 50’s means they played better football.
4 posters including 3 from Palmer and 4 other shots from inside 25 metres missed also, swans for once were actually very good in their ball movement
if you reckon Subi kicking it to erceg and Notte all day means you played good footy then good luck to you, apparently you wernt outplayed if that makes you feel better
