A consideration to take into account with respect to the swings required in WA is that they are more than likely artificially inflated due to the nature of the swing at the previous federal election and with the work of Abbott post that election the swing required is probably half of the official swing based on the 2013 election.

One should also take into account the contempt WA Ministers like Bishop, Cormann and others have shown WA with respect to the GST distribution. Until WA electors start voting in ALP members in WA in House of Rep seats the Liberals will continue to show disdain for the WA voters.

Well its been a painfull 7vweeks and our 24 hour media blackout is about to start.John Howard been in town drumming up support for the local MP's.
Wednesdays newspoll got Jonny on the flight to Perth.7.2 % swing against the govt has the Alp 51 v 49 in WA...A lot can change in the last 2 days with a swing back to the government. But as it stands they pick up Bert, Hasluck,Cowan, with Swan line ball split 50/50.

I know you are a labor man Swanny but do you seriously give Labor a real chance here? I have swung Labors way in the past 6 months, never thought I would be saying that but Malcom Turnbull has delivered nothing but hot air as far as I'm concerned and the only good thing the Libs have done is put the people smugglers out of business and Tony did that. I trust Bill Shorten will keep his word on that front.

Let's hope we don't have a nightmare hung parliament result like we did two elections ago where we had both major parties sucking up to the greens and independents. I couldn't stomach another everyone look at me speech from Rob Oakshit.

Mate Mondays Newspoll has it swinging back to the Gov, Your right Its been a long 7 weeks and thank god the media ban is in, I notice it does not apply to social media though.

John Howard was in Armadale yesterday, lucky he didn't get his wallet stolen, anyway he seemed pretty welcome.

I reckon ALP will pick up at least 2 seats here.

Latest polling suggests the stuff up with the Fire Vollies in Victoria is having an adverse impact on Labor there, Libs may pick up a seat there.

I reckon 8 - 10 seats will flow to the ALP, with Coalition winning with about a 9 seat majority.

Will Shorty hang around for another 3 years as ALP leader?

What a load of BS Swan42, the GST is controlled by the states all the states have to agree on any change , NSW, Vic Qld and the medicants TAs and SA are never going to agree to less - ALP members of the house of reps would make bugger all difference, in fact make it worse, the Federal ALP have never shown any interest in WA, their power base has always been NSW , Western Sydney and Qld,

ALP WA MP's would do stuff all to help with the GST, if anything they would be an ever more irrelevant voice, WA currently has more MPs in Cabinet than they have had in years.

Mate don't be so sure about Labor and their Greens mates on Border Protection he has several MPs that do not support Border Protection. Vote ALP and risk chaos on that front and make no mistake if its a hung Parliament and Bill gets offered a deal with the Greens he will take it in a flash,,,more Krudd/Gillard crap!

Yep Oatshit and Windsor the two cowards ( scared to front the people last time) are back on the scene, lets hope they are roundly rejects, apparently Oatshit has been unemployed for 3 years and is desperate for a quid so is back.

I used to be a Labor man, but a vote for Labor means a vote for the pole smoking greens.

Grassy wrote: On the one hand, the Coalition can't be trusted over Medicare, despite what the Canberra Press Gallery think.

And the ALP can't be trusted over the Same Sex Marriage Debate, which I believe will cost them Marginal Seats and Government.

Oakshot might be a Grandstander, but the whole premise of him,Windsor and Katter becoming Independents seperate from the National Party, was their belief that the National Party and the Libs were Shafting the Bush.

Of course,it's easy to look back in hindsight, but what Oakshot and Windsor should have done was to stick firm with their constituents and side with the Coalition,BUT then put the Coalition ON NOTICE,that if things didn't improve in the Bush, they would cross the floor on Legislative matters and if things didn't improve, consider a no confidence motion in the Abbott Government, should it have won Election '010.

Windsor is up against Joyce, but is up against it.Not because Joyce is anything special. He isn't.But unfortunately the situation has twisted around to the point, that Windsor has Shafted the constituents of New England.A pity, but that's politics and to some degree, human nature.

But the folk if New England have to ask themselves,"What on earth has Barnaby Joyce done for us?"

The Coalition to Win by a slightly reduced Majority, which with a 2 HousesMajority, will enable them to pass Highly regarded Legislation.

I don't think thy will get control of the Senate, maybe with some cross benchers,

It sounds like Nick X x 2, Lambie x 2 Hinch and Lazarus x 1.

Labour cant win the election Baz there primary vote is to low.The analists call Victoria Labours Black Hole.
Just find WA interesting as labour has only won the popular vote 3 times since Federation in WA for the Federal Election.During BoB Hawkes era.
Just my view Baz that the Federal Government could be doing a lot more to help out WA during this tough period for WA.Protest Vote.
