Apparently Malcolm Turnbull rocked up to the GG this morning and asked him to dissolve both houses of parliament tomorrow morning.
And the federal election has been called for the 2nd of July.
Meaning a very l o n g 55 days of election campaign...
One of the first casualties (as always) will be the truth.

WAG whet everyone should ask every Liberal and National Party candidate first is why this DD election was called when the government voted against debating the bill the week prior to the passing of the Senate voting reform bill? Why was it of no import then and it is now the trigger for the election?

don't know Grassy; unfortunately we don't have a bye either so Subiaco will be down one spectator at Leederville on the day.

You two should be ok there. Just get down to the polling booth early at when it opens at 0800. Won't be many people there at that time of the day. You'll be in and out quickly.

As predicted 2 July was always the date.

I will vote two or three weeks out absentee like always, previous excuses I have used include "Important footy commitments on Saturdays" might be better to just rock up on the day this year though
