Going to be a long 7 weeks and it been a long 3 years in Fereral Polotics. Really been 9 years of not the best Federal Governments.
Rudd was good dealing with the fallout from the GFC.Just wonder where we would be now if KR didnt act quickly and stimulate the Economy. But reports say he was a sh×t of a man and no one could stand him.He lost his leadership 7 votes to over 100,wow.
Julia was probably one of the better people you would meet in Federal polotics. Terrible lack of economic understanding. Carbon Tax in the middle of the GFC pricing Carbon 15 times greater than the offical market price. The cost of processing 30,000 asylum seekers at an average of $96,000 per person.
Tony Abbot of to a reasonable start.Got most of his election promises over the line.Carbon Tax,Mining Tax,Sovereign Borders but then it turned sour quickly.Showed Holden the door ,Toyota quickly followed.Promised the Japanese the Submarine contract. You tender for multi billion contracts, won by the French.Just mistake and gaff and silly mistakes.
Turnbull well arararar the ideas man.Very disappointed with Malcoms time in the top job so far.The Religious Right watching.Dont think Malcom can settle in top job yet . Honeymoon is over now.
Just to add Julia passed a lot of bills through the Senate,a hostile Senate.Good negociating skills.

Just a couple of observations: Gillard was able to get legislation through the Senate because she had someone, Anthony Albanese who was able to negotiate with the cross benches and showed due respect to them. Compare and contrast Julia Gillard's and Anthony Albanese attitude to and treatment of the cross benchers with Christopher Pyne's and Tony Abbott's attitude and treatment.

Malcolm Turnbull's big problem is that his personal views on many subjects run counter to his party's position. The ETS and the ABC for starters. He completely prostituted his own beliefs in order to get the Prime Ministership.

Swan this Double Disssolution Election is all about the so called Hostile Senate. They will probably need more than 6 crossbenchers if they are reelected.
Thanks for your comment on Malcom Turnbull.Just doesnt seem to have his heart in it for me..Thats just the way it seems to me anyway. He has stabilised the Party as Tony Abbot had the ship sinking very quickly.

Swan I think the ALP/Greens coalition had a lot to do with Juliar getting legislation passed. they just did what the Greens asked and the Greens jumped on board.

That number comes out of Sydney. From some kind of survey company. How did they get your number? They didn't really! They take a large block of numbers and either ring or text each one. If a response is heard, they know that number is live. That's how a lot of these companies work it.

Federal labor leader Bill Shorten apparently will not have anything to do with the Greens either, in the event of a hung parliament.
But Greens leader Di Natale said "that history showed both sides of politics talked down the possibility of power-sharing agreements in the lead up to an election, but after the election 'wiser heads' would prevail".

I hope Mr Shorten is true to his word on avoiding a coalition with the Green Party. Far easier to rule as a minority government and go to another election at a later date than have to bargain with that lot. Looking back, I think Gillard should have adopted such a course, making Education and the NDIS the centrepieces of her election campaign. On the one hand, such policies would have been difficult for the Tories to oppose particularly the NDIS, but even more importantly, she would not have had the carbon tax problem.

It is obvious that of the two major parties the ALP is more closely aligned to the Greens than the Liberal Party. It is therefore not unnatural for the ALP to get the support of the Greens; a fact that is borne out by the flow of Green's preferences to the ALP candidates. This is something that Richard di Natale needs to be cognisant of when it comes to getting into bed with the Liberals in preference swapping in some Victorian seats.

Also, it is probably relevant to reflect on Tony Abbott's negotiating skills from Tony Windsor's viewpoint:

Getting close now....

Whats everyones tips.?

I see the Coalition losing around 10 seats, Alp is not getting enough traction in the marginals it needs.

Western Sydney and Queensland is holding up, big ears in Victoria has done his best upsetting vollie firefighters to give the Alp nothing there, Nick X will pick up Mayo in SA , Bass looks like holding in Tas, Burt and maybe 1 or 2 will go in WA.

Coalition to be returned with a reduced but comfortable majority.
