In this mornings West on the back page John Townsend reported that there is disenchantment with the alignment. On page 136 it was reported that the new WAFC chairman said that the alignment has proven to be a success at East Perth. 5uck me, nothing has changed, there all full of shit. Now they are looking at a night Grand Final, it all revolves around our two AFL clubs. They cant get a decent crowd in the day how are they going to get a crowd at night.

Of course it was a success at EP as the club would of gone into bankruptcy and finished if the Alignment hadnt of come along.

Shit nice profit last year beause everything is paid for by the Eagles. Coach (well in name only as he is told who to play etc) Support staff and a lot of other things.

The WAFC is in denial and want to justify their BAD decisions by hyping it all up as a success.

The article you speak of Winger... Yep its on the net and does have a link :)

www.warehouse1.com.au/epages/shop.sf/sec...ategories/Contact_Us

It will be a total failure..... It appears CHN 7 is right behind it . THEY MOST PROBABLY MADE THE DECISION FOR THE WAFC EG

Broadcaster Channel 7 is eager to play the game at night this season and believes it would provide an attendance and ratings bonanza.

“It could be a great result for WA football,” Channel 7 Perth managing director Mario D’Orazio said.

WHAT A LOAD OF SHIT

The core reason the WAFL crowd at finals is THE WAFC FAULT and the cause the WAFC and the alignment. The WAFC has a lot to answer for. and it is on their Back.
They are chipping away each year into the WAFL.. They are clever and do in stages but the ulitimate results will be the same the end of the WAFL as we know it and love.

They have an answer for everything it appears ... like these comments in the article

QUOTE

Grand final crowds have diminished in the past decade with an average of just 20,004 attending in that period.

Miserable weather conditions and disenchantment with the AFL alignments contributed to last year’s grand final crowd of 11,987 being the WAFL’s lowest – apart from several seasons during World War II– since 1931.

AND

Have you noticed the AFL clubs get plenty of mentions in the article ... It all revolves around them.
This message represents the official view of the voices in my head

Only the completely delusional or disingenuous could suggest that the reason for the poor crowd at the 2014 WAFL GF had anything to do the weather. Those at the WAFC knew there was going to be a POOR CROWD and that was the reason for the cordon restricting access to the upper tier. I defy anyone to be able to find from the interview printed in The West today a positive for the entire WAFL clubs and competition from the host club alignment. What a joke the WAFC is if the comments attributed to the new WAFC Chairman are in accord with those held by the rest of the WAFC.

On what basis can he suggest that there is a Perth revival and how can he suggest that if there is one it has anything to do with the host club alignment unless he means as a consequence of the Eagles taking over Perth when they move to Lathlain Park Oval?

How has the host club alignment helped clubs improve their financial situation when it has patently alienated a significant base of WAFL supporters?

What possible metrics indicate that the host club alignment has been a positive for the WAFL clubs and competition?

I can say that I can run a 6.8 second 100 metres. Saying it doesn't make it true. Similarly, because the new WAFC commissioner has made comments about the positives of the host club alignment doesn't make them true. It would appear that the only negatives he could think of based on the host club alignment involved Peel in terms of "player retention" and 'stronger WAFL pathway for the players in the region". Mind bogglingly that was always going to be the result of the host club alignment. Even more bizarrely he suggested that it was a success at East Perth. What was the drop in home crowd attendances at East Perth last season? What was the crowd for the GF last year?

If he is the chair the the WAFC heaven help the WAFL clubs and competition.

Remembering, we only had 1 Wafl club in the Grand Final last season. Likewise the previous one to that also. When 2 of the Wafl clubs play off in the Grand Final, the attendance will increase.
Whether or not to have a night match is a debatable point. Apparently the low attendance last season was due to the 'weather'. What happens if the weather forecast is wet and cold on grand final night? Don't mean to comment and sound like a wet sock, but questions need asking.

If we can get a GF with out an alignment team on a fine day i reckon 25 000 would go. No need to change the format of the day

I agree but It must also be said that neither $ubi or Claremont involved either with their respective minuscule support bases would be a boon for GF crowds!
