Problem solved, thank god for West Perth!

I cant see the West Perth supporters being too happy or generous with removal of sponsors logos after the way the clubs been treated this year and to then take it up the anal cavity at GF time

Nor should Channel 9 for that matter

Lets see if the WAFL or the WAFC have any balls ..... NOT!!

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD WEST PERTH REMOVE THE CH 9 LOGO FROM THEIR JUMPERS if they make the finals and GF. If as a consequence of the ineptitude of those at the WAFC the GF is not televised they should resign en masse and be replaced with those who have an interest in the WAFL.

Let no-one be under any illusion that a night GF is purely and simple a Ch 7 initiative and should not be countenced by any WAFL club. The weather had nothing to do with the poor attendance at the 2014 GF; it was DIRECTLY and EXCLUSIVELY because of the host club alignment.

Messrs McHenry, Walton et al demonstrably HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA, or worse than that DON'T CARE, about the WAFL.

SWAN Its a pity WP have this drama with ch 9 deal, but to say they should not reach a compromise on coverage is just stupid, if the whole comp loses coverage.

Also i cant see your point re the night grand final, if it means a bigger TV audience and crowd and a chance to try something new then why not, as long as its not a sunday night i reckon its worth a go.

As you know , i agree the weather was not the sole reason for the bad attendance.

Bazza if the WAFC will provide financial compensation to West Perth then a compromise could be worked out. However, I have read where the WAFC are not going to provide financial compensation. Under those circumstances I stand my above comments.

With respect to a night GF how is it going to improve the actual attendance at the GF? What financial consequences are there if there is a night GF?

Personally I think we would struggle to get good numbers to a night WAFL Grand Final at Subiaco Oval
As someone else said it would be logical to stage it at a local ground that has lighting facilities

Swan, you live in a different world to me. I could only convince one friend to come, amongst all my fairweather so called footy fan friends. There were 8 definite starters and 3 other maybes that did not turn up because of the weather. 100% the weather stopped them coming on the day. Surely I'm not alone on that? Not that I give a shite either way.

For the preceding 6 months on this site there was a concerted campaign to boycott the GF due to the host club alignment. The upper tier of the grandstands were cordoned off to try to consolidate the crowd into a smaller are. The WAFC KNEW that it was going to be a poor crowd. The weather was and is just a rather pathetic rationalisation by the WAFC of the real reason why there was such a poor crowd.

How many who attended the colts' and/or reserves' GFs left before the start of the league GF?

I suggested a year ago after last years GF shambles that the time was now past for GFs at Subi, i would prefer Leederville.

From the experience at our club we do consistently get better crowds at Friday night games, all Im saying is its worth at least a try, if its a dud then go back to the old formula. If the game was to finish at say 8pm on a Saturday night, that would give clubs a chance to get people back go the. Club for bar takings.

the 2013 & 2014 grand final days weather conditions were exactly the same, drizzle, moderate winds and cool. 2013 crowd was 20,008. 2014 crowd 11,987. taking in that Subiaco has a low supporter base and the ferals have a large supporter base 11,000 bods is piss poor. I agree with swan42. the ferals membership has gone down like a head job on the titanic and so are their crowd numbers during the home & away season.
