dutton has handed elbow a poison chalice. lets see what elbow delivers, another trillion dollars of debt with all of his promises. nothing will change because he cant change a bloody thing. cost of living / crime / homelesness and insurance costs. nothing will chage.

Spot on TM.  The way things are currently structured, It's the coalition against Labor, Greens and Teals who are all preferencing each other.  I can't see a conservative government for a very long time.

Could be more silver linings, apparently Greens leader Adam Bandt is in a tight race to retain his seat. Probably how he likes it, tight. Lambie also at risk against Pauline's daughter.

Looks like rural Australia still loves the coalition in particular Western Australia, South Australia most of Qld and parts of NSW and Victoria.

Probably the worst Liberal campaign in history, Nuclear Power - but too scared to visit Collie, Supporting Live Animal Export, opposing Tax cuts, stopping working from home and then reversing on it, almost theu wrote a set of policies designed to lose,,,Angus Tayor couldnt sell a economic plan to save himself despite having a cost of living crisis handed to him.

Last year they were a chance but then crashed and burned, probably around the time Trump became toxic and never recovered.

They lost the inner city rich blue ribbons to the teals and then lost the suburbs as well - including blue ribbon ones like Menzies.

Demographic change is smashing the Conservatives , this is not Howards Australia anymore, its the first election Gen X and Millenials have outnumbered other voters, immigration has changed huge swathes of City votes, Chinese voters and candidates now dominate many electorates. The old white baby boomers are fading quickly now, the dated policies of Abbott, Howard and Dutton like climate change denialism are gone forever.

With a win this big you are easily looking at another two terms of labor.

Libs have now been wiped out in the cities, WA is no longer conservative Scomo killed that - only Qld remains, even there they got smashed in the city.

This is an exetential threat for the Libs they need to rethink the brand a split with the Nationals so they can try and win the cities back might be the only hope.

As a LIB/coalition voter I can only say that the party had a leader who was unelectable even when compared to Elbows and a newks policy that just didn't sit well with most voters plus a poorly run mostly negative campaign handing the election to Labor on a silver plate. The only good thing as mentioned is that the party voted into power by a significant majority wont be held to ransom by loony extremists like the greens, one nation or a raft of green leaning Teals. The other major factor in this election was the Trump effect. Any right leaning political party anywhere in the world will be adversely affected by this Orange fuckwit with a God complex. Same as a Liberal Voter I actually see some poistives, one a minority gov with the greens would of been a nightmare, and like you I am glad we have a strong majoirty and the greens are now irrellevant.

Further I see this as a chance to finally purge the party of the last remnants of hard right losers, Dutton was the most conservative leader in ages, he was an epic fail, there is no mythical MAGA movement in Australia we know that for sure now.

1 million Australians chose ALP over LNP as a first preference this time around, a LNP primary vote of 31%, lost the younger gen and women, every city in the country, most voters now don't even remember when Howard was PM, baby boomers will be even less in 3 years, they sound cactus to me,,for a decade at least.
