Mandatory jabs is just one aspect of it, the mining industry has embraced it, my young bloke had already had both jabs before that was brought in, now the teachers union is supporting it which is great as they are the face to face workers for our kids and grandkids so essential that they are 100% vaxed. Public sector workers must also be jabbed. There is still a choice for these groups, have the jab and work or choose not to and look elsewhere. The vax passport is the other way to incentivise the population. Choose to vax and you have almost no restrictions on where to go and what to do, choose not to vax and live like a hermit, it's your choice.

It is inevitable that Delta will get into WA, we have dodged every bullet that's been fired at WA ... so far, just needs that one international arrival or interstate trucker or selfish eastern states football fan to sneak in and it's chaos. It took just one idiot from NSW to sneak into Vic thats caused their latest lockdown with countless infections and dozens of deaths. The WA Government is imho not doing nearly enough to speed up the vax rollout, there are no longer any supply issues so no excises. Given the sad state of our heath system you would think that McGoo an Cooked would be leaving no stone unturned, but the opposite seems to be the case.

Mcgowans being sluggish on the vax roll out , that's been obvious for months now.

Its easier to play WA v Canberra shut the borders with all his WA is safe BS.

For example Why havent Public Transport Workers been told its mandatory? thats a no brainer, its taken this long to have Health Care and then Cops made a ruling.

I was OK with this but as other states get moving and travelling OS and the rest WA will be left behind. I want to travel sometime in the next 2 years give us a realistic plan way out and stick to it.

Bazza I assume that your are double dosed, so did you get it based on your own choice and the information you had to hand or was it in spite of McGowan and Cook or were you lead to get it because someone else told you!

I suspect given you seem to be a bright and intelligent person that you did it cos it was the best thing to do without any political coercion. It seems to me that in talking to folk that they cannot be bothered cos there is not any danger here.

Oh one person who will not get the jab reckons that it full of nano robots and that the reason for all the rain is down to no planes in the sky, no amount of Mcgown telling them is not going to sway them

There is one thing that I think the WA goverment should do is say ok if we have 80% fully vax'd by 31 December then we open up for folk with a vx passport, give folk a date and .......
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

What McGowan should be doing is offering incentives to nurses and doctors to come to WA from interstate and overseas by offering free hotel quarantine and help towards relocation costs in return for a two year minimum commitment. He needs to get every ward and bed open and that requires more doctors and nurses.

Be prepared, don't make excuses.

Yes doubled dosed first chance I got months ago. I did it because its the rational and civic thing to do, and the best way for us all to move on.

Unfortunately the only thing that works for some people is the carrot and stick approach.

McGowan is just using the borders as a political football to protect himself and his party leading up to the election. Not only that he keeps shifting the goal posts. He is taking the piss and laughing at how dumb and gullible West Australians are.

The fact is this bloke and the useless Roger Cook have FAILED the hospital system miserably. What are they doing about it? What they should be doing is going all out on a national and international recruiting campaign to entice doctors and nurses to WA and offer incentives such as fully paid (Free) hotel quarantine, relocation costs and maybe 50% of first 6 months rent paid in exchange for a minimum 3 year commitment.

Get the bloody doctors and nurses in to open up all wards and all beds so we can open our borders and get back to normal life. Stop fucken giving these soft cocks an excuse to feel safe and not go and get the jab. Are you really that useless Mark?

DD......life back to normality for whom mate?......you  Joe Public or the under paid, over worked burnt out Nurses and Doctors expected to front up each day , on the same piss poor pay, shitty working conditions, to quietly clean up the mess COVID leaves behind.  You seem to think the  nurses and doctors  you need, simply are in abundance mate.....world wide......sadly they are not especially the speciality kind.....but hey I guess any old Aged care RN or 9-5 GP could  be coerced onto the COVID wards to look after the ventilated, BiPAP or CPAP COVID patients 24/7.....come end of the day they are a qualified nurse or doctor eh?......not sure a free quarantine bed, relocation costs or 50% rental is gonna cut it mate.....perhaps pay them "mining boom" tax free salaries for a 12-18 month committment....then who knows, WA hospitals might get lucky with a few keen punters to make a quick buck......

So I take it from that we can rule out this expat healthcare worker from coming home to help fill the desperate shortfall in our hospitals? Gee the money must be good in NZ.

This is like the chicken and the egg, what came first. If we open the borders yes we let Covid in and McGowan’s Mash tent hospital system will be under the pump but then suddenly it will be easier to get workers in not just for hospitals. I don’t have any sympathy for the unvaccinated sorry.

If only our politicians including leaders were as dedicated and self sacrificing like our doctors and nursing teams….
Unfortunately, our pollies are really only in it to set themselves up for life.
