In all honesty to compare a private news outlet with the national broadcaster that is obliged to follow a strict charter and is funded to the tune of a billion or more by tax payers to present a un-bias reliable news service is ludicrous in the extreme.

And to be honest I have never see even News Corp crop and edit a news story via video to the extent of this example, mind you they don't have anything like the free to air broadcasting reach the ABC has.

Let's not act as though the Murdoch media is some small community news media with a coverage of 100 people.  It is the dominant newspaper in every capital city except Perth and has monopolies in many of those capital cities and also in many regional towns.

Also, let's not forget that the Murdoch media is a recipient of the federal government's largesse.

What a damning indictment that the Murdoch media is not to be trusted.  It certainly is a trait that runs true for programmes like Tucker Carlson where Fox News in their defence of a law suit was forced to claim that Tucker can't reasonably be expected to consistently provide accurate information to viewers.

CNN isn't much better from a left leaning point of view but at least they try to see both sides.......sometimes.

This is not the first time ABC has used deceptive editing. They did it with the aged care royal commission press conference by editing it to make it appear as if Prime Minister Scott Morrison abruptly ended the press conference and walked off because of a question he did not like, when he had actually continued to answer the questions. It is unprofessional and seems to be political interference.”

Which has zero to do with this story as none absolutely none of them are National Broadcasters with a strict statute charter to follow.

Private news casters can do pretty much what they like in comparison.

For us that live in the real world and not in alternate universes where newspapers, internet articles and tv programmes are completely divorced from each other, there is a clear agenda: Murdoch wants to get rid of the ABC for his own profit.

Well just watched Media Watch's commentary of this.  As I suspected there was strong criticism of it on Media Watch.  If only Sky News (Australia) was as critical of its coverage when appropriate.
