Nice one LS, good to see that Trumps taxes paid into the Chinese coffers will go towards building up their military. There are few clean-skins in politics its just levels of corruption or cronieism, Trump has a record of shady deals, hidden tax records and horrendous dealings with women, Biden has been a small target who has not done a great deal while in politics, well maybe getting to be VP is a reasonable effort, the best that Trump could come up with is a series of accusations against Bidens son, many of which are unfounded. It is said you shouldn't be hung for the sins of your father, the reverse applies for Biden, but then again they are yet to prove anything concrete, so we are left with a president who hides his tax records, must have something major to hide, a president who was caught on tape speaking about how he likes to sexually assault women, grabbing their pussy's etc, what a prize he is. Joe is a much more measured character, far less manic or self obsessed, surely thats a better fit for a national leader, rather than the cringe worthy embarrassment of a human being that is Trump.

SS: its Biden and his mates whose policies let communist china into the wto in the first place, claiming it would change China. Hasn't that worked well? I am sure the people of HK are really thankful to them for helping to strengthen Peking.

gtr: thanks, we did get the prediction close last time, just a bit of historical knowledge, observation over the years and looking at the trends in the polls in the key states.

I believe the BBC poll, gtr, Biden will probably win the popular vote because of excess vote in NY and TV land. Trump should win the following:

Ohio
NC
AZ
Texas
Florida
Ga

He will need Pa, some polls have him as close as 2 per cent. Of course, Biden should be winning the state easily in view of philidelphia, so Trump is doing a good job.

If Trump does win a close vote via the electoral college, the Madonnas and Democrats of this world will just have to grow up. As I have said before, we have a similar system here with the federal referenda system. You have to win four states, unless that happens, there is no point of even counting the popular vote -- except for the interest of historians.

Also, as people on here know better than moi, it is possible to win the popular vote in Australia and lose the parliament in Canberra -- I think our bloke from 'swan' did it in one election?

You are sounding more desperate by the post Ark - I do wonder who it is you are trying to convince though?

tm -- wait and see -- mainly Madonna -- she fails to understand her own country. I would vote for neither candidate. Sanders, yes.

I like Sanders too but what I like about Biden is that he is not Trump.

Australia supported China's entry into the WTO as well AR even thought it's a centrally planned economy so what's your point?

BC-- it was a mistake -- you don't trade with an enemy. Do we trade with Russia in a big way? the japs were our second biggest trade partner in the late 30s, and we were fighting them the following decade.

Show me a country who doesn't trade with China. Trump made all sorts of noises about placing tariffs on Chinese goods but it hasn't stopped them trading. From January of this year alone the US has imported $262b from China whilst only exporting $70b to them so all his posturing, bluff and bluster has come to SFA.

The Morgenthau playbook was put out on a verge collection decades ago Ark. States aren't exactly unitary and there are other actors playing increasingly bigger roles on the world stage.
