I tell you who did do the heavy lifting was the Qld Gov they went hard for it.

Unlike McGowan who was totally disinterested.,

I disagree Baz. Mac G was interested, but under our terms and bloody good on him. Last thing we need is a bunch of slobbering sicktorians spreading their disease with us.

58, McGowan could save one of Bazzas family members from drowning and Baz still would find a way to blame him

Although Ihe was half hearted about the whole thing, I don't really totally blame him, more the VFL (AFL). In saying that, think of all the people that would of been employed GF Day in Perth ! Massive opportunity lost.

Not really that massive an opportunity lost, wouldn’t have been any bigger really than a normal Eagles home game. WAs pubs would be busy on grand final day anyway whether it’s at Optus or Gabba, stadium staff miss out on a days work that’s about all though isn’t it.

On the news last night they said that Optus will be open for the GF with all big screens operating so punters, in controlled numbers (up to 30K) can attend, bars and food outlets will be open. If WC are playing they could well meet the max limit if not maybe 10k will turn up, which is interesting as apparently it costs $100k to hold an event there and WAFL has been locked out ..... curious?

What a fucken joke. The WA government should immediately sack the entire commission like they did the City of Perth and appoint administrators and overturn this stupid decision to play the pinnacle of the WAFL at a club ground.
Get on your bike.

The WAFL GF has to be moved now to the Stadium as it will be sitting dormant for months and that is even if we get an International cricket season this Summer?

Who do you think is paying? Of course taxpayers will be slugged to open the bloody joint up so people can look at screens, have a bet, getting half pissed and spending more of their money.

While the Qld govt has bent the rules allowing AFL players, staff, corporates and their families exemptions allowing them the freedom to roam around the hotel and enjoy the pool, those not so privileged are confined to their rooms.

Yes if that is not a severe case of double standards - not sure what the hell is!!
Apparently Qld have a state election before Christmas. Could easily blow up in their premiers face.

No Bazza.
I like a bit of enjoyment just as much as the next person.
I would have thought there are quite enough drinking and betting establishments within the metro area already.

No body's dissing the workers getting work but if they can open for an on screen only game why not for the WAFL GF, thats 2 events that provides work. I thought this joint was the peoples stadium paid for entirely out of WA taxpayers pockets.
