I tell you who did do the heavy lifting was the Qld Gov they went hard for it.

Unlike McGowan who was totally disinterested.,

I disagree Baz. Mac G was interested, but under our terms and bloody good on him. Last thing we need is a bunch of slobbering sicktorians spreading their disease with us.

58, McGowan could save one of Bazzas family members from drowning and Baz still would find a way to blame him

Although Ihe was half hearted about the whole thing, I don't really totally blame him, more the VFL (AFL). In saying that, think of all the people that would of been employed GF Day in Perth ! Massive opportunity lost.

Baz thats true but how much was the state having to pay the greedy VFL phukers to get the game, not sure the whole thing would turn much of a profit in the end that would make it worth the obvious health risks

For mine, even if they made a 20 mil profit, would it have been worth WA and our people paying a COVID price?

Not really that massive an opportunity lost, wouldn’t have been any bigger really than a normal Eagles home game. WAs pubs would be busy on grand final day anyway whether it’s at Optus or Gabba, stadium staff miss out on a days work that’s about all though isn’t it.

It’s backfiring on the Qld govt and the AFL already turning into a PR disaster for both. While the Qld govt has bent the rules allowing AFL players, staff, corporates and their families exemptions allowing them the freedom to roam around the hotel and enjoy the pool, those not so privileged are confined to their rooms.

With the worldwide TV coverage a GF gets it would have been a massive boost (when travel restrictions loosen) to tourism in this state.

And now two Richmond players including Sydney Stack have been caught up in a dust up outside a strip club on the Gold Coast. Yep, wonderful publicity for Queensland. Mark must be breathing a sigh of relief. We already got a taste of it here when the two senior Collingwood coaches went outside the hub for a game of tennis and Elijah Taylor snuck his gf into the Joondalup Country Club for a bit of jiggy jiggy.

On the news last night they said that Optus will be open for the GF with all big screens operating so punters, in controlled numbers (up to 30K) can attend, bars and food outlets will be open. If WC are playing they could well meet the max limit if not maybe 10k will turn up, which is interesting as apparently it costs $100k to hold an event there and WAFL has been locked out ..... curious?

I smell a rat SS, who is paying the $100k open up fee for this event?
The WAFL GF has to be moved now to the Stadium as it will be sitting dormant for months and that is even if we get an International cricket season this Summer?
