Yep all about age...talk about him joining in on the premiership window from a few fellow Don supporters is something even the writers at Disney wouldn't consider

Heard a couple of callers on PR tonight give some sensible comments about Ballantyne's situation. Sounded like the first caller was someone close to him saying he is seeking a 2 or 3 year deal and Fremantle haven't begun negotiations with his manager as yet so his manager has been attracting interest from Essendon and a couple of others and they've spoken to WC.

Then another caller says why would any club offer him 2 or 3 years when he's had two serious cheekbone injuries and is possibly one more fractured cheekbone away from his footy career being over.

With McCartney and Brad Hill possibly coming maybe the club is keeping it's powder dry and maybe there are other big fish in the water they have their eye on?

But I guess saying the environment at Fremantle is toxic and horrid and players want out sounds better.

PN have you seen anything on the field that indicates that Ballantyne doesn't want to play for Freo? As a point to help you consider the question: compare and contrast his attitude and desire to play with some quite substantial and painful injuries and the attitude and desire of a certain captain who finished his season when his team had a chance to play in their first finals.

Personally if I had a choice of picking one of those two to play for Swans it would take a second to choose Ballantyne.

People should look at a player's attitude and actons on the footy field rather than what a hack journalists writes about their intentions.

No thanks. He's not that good plus we have enough down back that turn it over.

Surely West Coast wouldnt give HB a 3 year contract? and McKenzie wouldnt be in the mix for Freo I wouldnt have thought. If he goes (HB) then it may be somewhere like Essendon but I still doubt he would get 3 years. I think he stays at this stage.
