I take this trade
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Good grief, surely they wouldn't trade Darling for Ballantine. I'd hoped the WCE were a bit smarter than that!

I don't see what the hassle with Pavlich is though. He earned the right to stay and retire at the time he saw he was no longer able to contribute. He even went to Lyon and the Board and asked if they wanted him to step aside.Cut the apron strings if you like. They said no.He is still coaching the less experienced forwards how to play, where to position themselves. He is still value.
If it is put up.. Ballantyne for Darling!!!!!! not for me.Darling is a talent for sure, but is a down hill skier. Not consistant enough.
If the trade was with Eric McKenzie then I would say ... let's do it.

Darling is far more valuable than Balla and I would hate the big E to go to THAT club.

Meh I wouldn't hold it against Balla if he went to the scum down the road, I've even heard some of their supporters would hand their memberships in lol.

58 Shark the Eagles had a couple of flat games v carlton, Melbourne and Collingwood.Just on Thoes days Ballantine could fire the side up drive his opponents crazy. Can think of a few Freo wins where Ballantine just drove the opposition crazy and put them off there game.

OK gt, but I go back to my point that he's 29yo and not in good form. Would hate to see the Eagles waste a good pick on him when what their needs are in other areas.

If the Dockers were to trade pick three I'd be looking at GWS to deal with. Try and get Patton, Lobb, Coniglio or Tomlinson. Either a combination of at least two maybe three of those and a trading of other picks.

Downhill skier?
FMD the blokes only 24 years old is coming off a serious injury from last season where he missed half a year he takes the second best defender week in and week out and is still likely to kick 40 plus goals for the year,in a quiet year.
Yep he has had some ordinary games in 2016 i agree, disappointing ones in fact.
I would have thought there was plenty of upside to him though.

Whack Rory Lobb as a second tall down there and i reckon that would take the shackles off Darling.

As for Ballantyne i wouldnt be giving to much up on him,a draft pick and Kane Lucas as a sweetner,Ha!!

Dont think WC would even think about trading Ballantyne for Darling. As much as I think Darling is a bit soft at the ball, he is only 24 and still could develope into a very good forward.
