Bills Grill is interesting and worth a read..On last game and next game comming up

westperthfc.com.au/news/8174/bill-gets-g...monaghan-round-4-q-a

I found his comments on Injuries and while we have a few injured many who can come up.
I have been very impressed with Manzone and he has to come up after his Reserves efforts and will play a big part in our League team..

Extract from the above Grill

Q: Any players in the reserves getting close to a call up?
A: We've got a significant number of injuries in our senior squad so our reserves have copped it a little bit the last couple of weeks. We have eight or 10 injuries at the moment and most of them are key position or tall players, and that's an area we are lacking in and we don’t have a significant number of them in the reserves to fill that void. We played a first-gamer in Sam Rotham against Subiaco who I thought was very good, but he is coming off 10 colts games last year and three reserves games this year. We are battling a bit with big man numbers but hopefully we start to get some back after the bye. Jordan Jones is still a couple of weeks off, Marcus Adams is another four or five weeks off, we hope Shayne Zanetti will play after the bye, Seva Martin is out for the year and Max Alexander is out for a significant number of weeks. We think our smalls and mids are OK with our numbers and Corey Chalmers is one really pushing for selection even though he had his two front teeth knocked out against Subiaco and will miss the next four or five. We just have to back in our players who have been doing the job and looking in the reserves there are Bartholomew, Manzone and Crisp who are senior players not far away from pushing back into the senior side.

Looking forward to the game.. It will be a ripper with Swans wanting to get the win in and to come back from last loss

WAFL PREMIERSHIP MARKET

Interesting to see Subi are short to win the premiership but IMO there are 7 teams still in it with a long way to go.

Not much to say at this time'
I mainly wanted to get the Keitel topic off front spot

Continued conversations regards this young man and the who's at fault, whats the rules, lets change the rules , have you read the rules and on and on ... should rest at the WAFL topic page -
its gone far past the West Perth page now as can be seen by the lack of WP posters commenting any further.

Can we begin to consider this weeks game against the Black Ducks???

when Keitel gets his game in the reserves this week I am sure there will be new fodder for all to chew on...

Certainly Growler, I will not say any more about you know who....
What I am interested though is what West Perth fans think about Luke Meadows. I saw him once last year, and he impressed me with his skills and poise under pressure particularly for someone who, up to that stage had only played a handful of WAFL games. Do you think he has what it takes to get on an AFL rookie list maybe? I will be interested to see how he goes on Monday.

Young Meadows is as you say very level headed under most pressures he is placed under ... his opportunities now come through injuries within the squad but that's how some get to prove just how 'good' they can be and then make it all the harder for the returnees to walk back in - just ask Crisp and Razor...

What he hasn't seemed to achieve quite yet is that stand out quality that bring the eyes of the Scouts to attention.

Personally I believe this to be a mistake as confident young men good at their trade are a bonus to a teams backbone and can also be an easier training prospect because of their diligence and desire

when you see how the draft has played out from 2014 / 2015 in the AFL you have to ask - Just what gets you past the gate these days? - looking at Carlton/Brisbane/St Kilda'S roster and then mix in the amount of injuries this year that are causing no end of issues for selectors, then there is the comments that this years draft will be very shallow of the superstars factor young guns.... them maybe the work horse players will get a shot in the circus??

Yep gotta agree the Footy Budget is not what it used to be. Mainly just a players list for most spectators. Not a bad issue this week and a few good articles.. Enjoy the collectibles article and a couple of others of interest from week to week. Good article on the Integrated Teams for kids with intellectual disabilities on page 25. Have a friend whos son plays in this comp and have attended a few of the games at Buzzacott. They love top play the game and it is great to see this initiative by the Amateurs.

The Stats page on disposals/Frees agains/for/ Marks/Disposals is always interesting to see who is leading in those categories.
We have no one from WP on the Free's For list... :) Jay Van Berlo is on the free's against list though :) ... I noticed Chris Keunen has dropped to second on the Hit Outs list.. Jack Nuich is the SD player on the Hit Outs table as well so assume Chris will be up against him? Looking forward to Chris having a good day.

Missed my Bouncedown magazine this year as not at my newsagent and didnt get around to getting it from Media Tonic. A great lead up to the season with players and club lists etc etc. Just another victim of the WAFC in their endeavors to cut costs especially at WAFL level. :(

Full budget online at www.mediatonic.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Round-061.pdf

Anyway on with the game. Looking forward to the game on Monday and the pre game Anzac rememberance.. Budget has a full tribute to all clubs who have Died on Active service.
I have cut the WP and SD players off the page. Lest we forget RIP... Full club lists on page 5 of the Budget above.
