i agree. high possession rates and high ineffective possession rates means lots of turnovers. the boys played the man last night and lost focus ultimately being out worked by a tougher Subiaco. my African mate next door, moe, recons his mrs dina has bigger balls than some of the west perth boys, I don't know about big balls but boys she has a big fat arse.

Bit unlucky in last 10 mins with a close miss and a poster
2 Marks by Striker and Luke Meadows that werent considered as not good enough by the Umpire
A soft free kick where a Subi player was on his knees and the WP player comming in got a head high against him when there was nothing else he could do with the momentum and Subi went down and kicked the nail in the coffin

Missed Marcus Adams today he could of made the difference but am not one to say 1 Player makes a team. If that was the case you havent got a team.
I was told Jordon Jones would be back after the bye and that will be a handy inclusion as well.. DONT WORRY CARDIES ALL IS NOT LOST ;)

All up a tough fought game in the WAFL tradition.

Bye next week and then onto Swannies for the Anzac Monday game. Sure that will be another hard game in the true tradition.

Well done to the Colts who have turned a big corner
Condolences to the Reserves who should of won but just didnt want to be first to the ball

Growler do not agree with your comments on Blacky and Nellie both had a good game today and the bottom line is IF A PLAYER FROM your team has possession he has to get it in the first place and it puts your team at an advantage in that you have possession. :)

That is what footy is all about. You are welcome to your opinion mate and have heard it before but Disagree entirely. If a player has 40 Disposals and another 8 I know who I would prefer to have in my team.. Take them out of the equation and your club is in BIG trouble...
As for Nelly He had 43 disposals.. 23 kicks and 20 handballs.. ok 4 marks so take those off his kicks and he had 18 kicks in GENERAL play that would of put us in an Attacking position and please dont say they were turn overs as I saw very few turnovers today and he wasnt one of the offenders.

It is going to be a very interesting comp looking at the results so far AND A TIPSTERS NIGHTMARE . Perth appear to be the only week link and after todays result could upset a few teams when they get their act together.

Cardy, bit rich for you to bring the umpiring into the equation, your mob were all over us in the first qtr and had the massive rub of the green from the umps, but maybe being first to the ball all qtr, 30+ more possessions and a massive tackle count advantage would mean you get that. After a massive serve from Schoey Subi gradually turned it around, took a leaf from your boys book and went in much harder and were more direct keeping your mob to 1 point while adding 3.6 and low and behold we started to get some frees!! After qtr time it was 9.11 to 2.7 but you still out did us on possessions (313-304), marks (78-50), hit outs (55-47) and frees (24-21) so it was a case of effectiveness as Growler was saying, no good getting massive possie numbers if they lack effectiveness. Given the high quality of the outs we had in Horse, Yarran, Blecheynden & Twoemy it was a great effort by the 2nd tier boys that came in.

Cardy, I respect your right to try and be upbeat about your team, but to say that was a courageous performance???
They were 4.4 to nil at quarter time holding Subi, who had the better of the breeze, scoreless!
They then kicked 2 goals for the rest of the game!!
And please don't try and isolate a couple of debateable free kicks or marks....because we could debate all day about the ones missed the other way.
Missing a couple of shots at the end? Well by then the game should have been way out of WP's reach anyway if Subi hadn't missed 4 or 5 sitters at the other end whilst they had the ball in their forward line for so long.
Finally, you may have had Adams, Jones and the young fella who did his ankle in the fight missing, but Subi had Horsley, Twomey, Yarran, Blenchynden, Deluca, Boland, Yarran and Menegola all missing from our best side so I think most pundits would suggest Subi has more claim on a "courageous performance".

My hope is that this comes as a wake up this early in the season and doesn't place us exactly where we were last year - not learning from the experience

Subi found us out in several areas and these areas are NOT the vulnerable side 'we are' - but sadly 'can become'.

Taggers did their job on Manning - even tho he still got a goal and tried hard all night long. Showed the loss to us when his effectiveness was countered.

The ball was not effectively shifted to Lourey by the Mids.

We Miss Adams but hes just one man - admittedly A BIG MAN :)

Once again Kuenen was magnificent and without a second ruck I admire his continued application to the game.

No way should the mischief fighting in the second qtr have ruffled our feathers BUT IT DID and two players woosed out two (2) to three (3) times each on several plays in the remainder of the day/night that allowed Subi to take over the ball - 'very poor'.

There could and maybe should have been some moves made to alter the flow of the ball and to initiate different dynamics to our forward line

The stats say we should have been much more competitive and these are the "WHY NOT" answers we need to search for this week and if we are to be respected as the year moves on

Go West...

Wow Cardy....all that great history of the Cardinals/Falcons and a mere 134games is the longest serving coach.
