Negative as always STT. If you disapprove so much with the NEW management why did you not offer yourself for election to the Board.
You have nothing but contempt for the redevelopment of the Lathlain Precinct and the new and revitalised Board. If you want to go back to previous administrations and the stagnation the club was in then look elsewhere for your jollies.
By the way have you renewed your membership yet? Perhaps not ..maybe you are not a member at all. That is ok.

Ted, you raise a good point. The club is correct to stand fast in refusing to negotiate a clearance for Leggett. No arbitrator is going to entertain any argument about a contracted player. To do so would render all player contracts invalid.
Just to remind everyone, Leggett wanted out last year as well and has been under external pressure to leave the club. Return and honour your contract Cody or sit the season out.
Ninja is a totally different matter and, I believe that he will be cleared to SF.
As for recruiting I don’t see that we are worse off. IMO the ins outweigh the losses. By how much is the question.

OK but you are a harsh judge IMO. Only one thing to be impressed with?? Surely not.
What is wrong with showing a little bit of enthusiasm instead all the doom and gloom an opposing everything. A little bit of constructive comment goes a long way. You don't have to be impressed with everything but balanced comment is useful.
I am not a cheerleader by any means but a passionate supporter for over 60 years and a member for 50+ years. There have been many times when I have been critical of the club especially over the past 42 years.

personal demon wrote: I reckon we’ve gone backwards. Jones, Leggett, and Ninja were in best 10 over the last 3 years. Masten makes up for Jones (maybe?), but who makes up for Leggett and Ninja (among our leading goal kickers over the last couple of years)? Murphy and Richardson were not household names at Claremont. The rest are unproven. A mix of colts and cast offs, with two interstaters who come from leagues which, probably in the round, aren’t as good as the WAFL. On top of that we missed out on McInnes, who would have been a solid addition and weren’t able to convince Tropiano to come back. Hardly a recruiting story - so far - to write home about. Clarke seems an outside chance. Where is the improvement to our forward line or back line. What about the midfield? Is it going to be better? The spruikers on here are heavily medicated.

Ninja top 10? You are taking the P. Barely fired a shot in 2019 . What spruikers? Who has said our recruiting has been outstanding or we’ve got a gun midfield. Probably one or two outsiders have rated our recruiting highly. At least we’ve been active and it’s a good sign a lot of players want to come to our club.

There hasn’t been a lot of top notch recruiting by any club but I guess if you get a firmer No 3 draft pick and a guy who played in the 2018 premiership you have beaten a top field. Swans have come with a late run, maybe they claim he title but nobody knows until we see how they all perform and that might be judged over a few seasons.

This was a thread about ins/outs. This comment was made early on: "Would cap off a great off-season". As far as recruiting has gone, the off-season has not been great. Ninja has played 50 games and kicked 75 goals and is 21!!!! You'd expect this guy to kick double that amount in his next 50. Leggett is one of the few players to have made the state squad in recent times. Clint Jones had a heart as big as a horse. Masten is an excellent pick-up - no disagreements there. However, on the whole, we've gone backwards. You don't want to go into a new season not knowing who is in your best 22. And right now that's where we are at. I reckon around 12 players, if fit, are a lock in our best 22. From the back: (Giblett, Bryan, Sinclair, Taylor, Byrne, Yeo, Masten, Colledge, Rogers, Eyres, Bennell, Langdon). And from those 12, I've my reservations about Bennell's consistency, if not his talent. So we've lost 3 from the best 12 and replaced 1. That's just the facts. It's not being negative. It's just a reminder that we need to grow from within (fringe league and former colts players) and that what we've recruited is anyone's guess.

Ninja kicked just 10 goals in 10 league games in 2019 and didn’t score in 4 of those games and only kicked 1 goal when a spot in the finals was there for the taking in the last game against Peel. He is undisciplined and gets himself reported for undisciplined acts. We don’t need players like that if we want to rise up the ladder.

Bennell is another unless he pulls his finger out he’s another we can discard.

Certainly would have capped off a great off-season.
Some of us disagree with you.
So be it.
Ninja not a required player, I certainly agree with that.
For too many years we have over valued our players.
I am disappointed to lose Leggett but long term we need better service than Ninja can give.
