Yes DD I was referring to Bennell. I love him as a player. He is young and his good stuff is very good. Maybe he goes to sleep at times but there is a lot of upside once he matures. I would hate to see him kicking a bag against us at another club because we didn't have any patience with the young fella. We can always send him back to the ressies until he wakes up. Don't forget he is a Perth player and correct me if I am wrong is only costing us 1 point.

Honestly I am over prima donas.
That are not team players and seem hell bent on of doing what they like when they like.
Not sure that they fit the bill of a Subi.
So why do we put up with them?
Part of the change must be culture.
I think we are changing it but we must be resolute.

Spot on, we can’t have two sets of rules it’s too destabilising for the club and the squad. I know some players have special circumstances but when they consistently don’t turn up to training and have to have other players chasing them to pick them up quite frankly they are not worth the effort. Bennell started at Claremont in colts, he’s originally from Albany. Spent a bit of time at Swans as well so that’s 3 clubs now he’s had chances at. I’m confident we’ve got plenty of talent coming through that can have a bigger impact.

Those two probably cost us games last year from lack of output. I reckon I know what would have been going through minds like Bob Shields and Colin Lofts last year.

OK. Do we tell a state player to piss off or do we give him a backhander, as would have happened in the old days, and tell him to get his shit together or do we send him to another club so he can star against us? I don't know the answer to that but I do know that I would be spewing when these guys (Ninja and MB) play well against us. If they are not interested I am all for giving them the arse but at least let's find out why they want to leave first. It seems that there are a few that want to leave. It seems to be our indigenous lads so is there an issue there or is it that they don't like a bit of discipline? You experts tell me because I am nonplussed.

Ninja fluffs too many opportunities, is a poor shot for goal under pressure and gives away undisciplined free kicks and gets himself reported. Bennell just thinks he’s better than he is and you blokes think the club and coaches haven’t busted their ass trying to help these blokes be good league footballers? They under deliver more often than not. Time to move them on and give others opportunities.

Bennell was turning up to training late on a regular basis, that is why he was dropped. After that he chucked a sad was never the same. Should we keep him is the question? He is a 1 point player and I think we should. Play in the reserves until he pulls his finger out.

As for Ninja - he was never really going to stay. He complained a few times how he was disappointed that Souths didnt offer him a spot after development squad. He always wanted to play there and so did his dad. Best trade him while he's worth something.

To me the biggest disappointment is Flash Gordon. Lots of god given talent and no ticker.... He's off to the Railways.

Are we seeing a trend here?

Just to break the trend is Leggett. WTF is his problem? On the verge of state selection and playing finals footy and he wants out. Again I think a parent might have something to do with this one. We have lost him but did we get anything for him?

If a player turns up late to training or not at all without a valid excuse does he even deserve a chance to play reserves? Just wondering what message that sends? Would Subiaco and Souths tolerate it?

I think Bennell is a bit of a one trick pony who snuck under the radar, then oppositions worked him out just play body on body he is easily beaten. Dry weather footballer that went missing when winter arrived.
