Two things stood out for me today.
First was our tackling. It has been a long time since we tackled so furiously and made them stick.
50 tackles after half time...simply fantastic.
Secondly, there was never any sign of a fadeout. We kept gut running for the whole game. Hard at the ball and never shirked a contest. A great team effort but we cannot get ahead of ourselves.
Now to follow up and consolidate and set up our season for a good run at finals footy later on.

Congratulations to perth.I was always dubious as to whether west coast was going to be the powerhouse everybody expects. You just have to see how adealide crows have under performed in the sanfl.Even with a nearly fit squad the achiles heel the eagles have is that they have way too many talls and not enough quality midfielders at wafl level.I think all wafl clubs need to realise that the eagles are beatable.Tthe last ten players on their list are not world beaters I suspect their community players will also battle to cover injuries.Add the fact that the team will change every week when most wafl teams will have the same personnel week after week will make them vulnerable.Hopefully all clubs can replicate perth.

I hope you're right SFTF and I think injuries (or lack of) permitting, I think this will be the year we break our drought. There seems to be a real belief amongst the group and they seem like they are a tight knit bunch and playing for the coach.

Looking at the game on the TV Clint Jones played a hell of a game. No longer needs to rack up 40 to 50 possessions, I think he's a much more effective player getting 20 to 30 and being more efficient with his disposal.

Watched the replay on catch up TV. Was just as good the second time around. Couldn’t find any player that played a poor game. Onwards to South Fremantle now.

With the blood pressure back to normal and having watched a replay of Saturday's game here are some observations.
Please note that this is IMHO.

I thought the win was one of our best for some years.
The reason being we put them to the sword and ran away from them.
I though our fitness may tell against a team where most of their players train daily as part of their job.
Not sure but I think we look fitter, stronger and quicker.
Our disposal by hand in close was decisive and constructive.
Yes we fumbled a few but I thought our disposal was good.
New players::
I want to see more of Langdon, I think as he picks up the tempo of league football we may have found a good player.
Reserve my judgement on Bryan for the moment but certainly would like to see more of him.

Sam Garstone has matured his body is now an adult.
I thought is game was a beauty, and if his body stands up he may be the tall forward we are looking for.
So potentially 2 tall forwards who work hard.
Well harder than White anyway.

Lachy Dennis looks like he has come along. Looks like he belongs and works hard.
Cary looks like he is attacking the ball a lot harder. Like Matt Rodgers in fact.
Welcome back Matt he is going to be a very good recruit.
How did Michael Sinclair not get named in the top 40 WAFL players.
Our media really do not have any idea.
Overall we looked fitter, faster, stronger and more hard at it.
We actually shrugged tackles.

Maybe it's just me getting over excited but top 5 IMHO is not an unrealistic expectation.
