Looking for guys who didn't get a go due to the 'list clooging' approach that has apparently caused all our talent to leave...One or two will do.

My point, both for the now and the future, is that we have a bad zone and it is consigning us to ongoing mediocrity unless something is done to either address the zone or recognise it and do something else to help. It is not about coaches or money or admin or the board....

correct 'stand the test'. Perth has had one key forward -- Franklin -- come out of it zone in forty yrears. For me, the relative lack of talent at the club actually explains why there has been 'list clogging in the past'.

Compare that to Subi, whom have had a reasonable zone: Brad Smith Blake Broadhurst Sammy Larkins; vlubs with better zones, of course have had better key forwards.

But if you asked the WAFC they would say, oh you need to recruit better, or get a better coach or get a better admin - hang on some of the posters here must actually be WAFC men!!

Ark who is to say if Franklin had stayed at Perth as long as Broughton,Larkins and Smith did at Subi, Perth wouldnt of been more successful..compared to a lot of clubs Subi have been bloody lucky not losing good youngsters to the draft...EF lost Clark,Ryder,Kennedy,Hooker and Taylor all in the space of 2-3 years...pretty sure all of them could of been as good as tho Subi boys in the WAFL kicking goals.

Even though EF don't have bags of cash, get raided by the AFL regularly and have made some bizarre coaching appointments they still manage to make finals now and again in the modern era - proves my point.

Freeze: Had the draft age been higher and the 2000 side hang around for two or three years, I think the PFC would have won a flag; that was the one side to have come out of the zone; I say only flag, naturally, because clubs with better zones would also have had their better players for two or three years, and, as result, would have won a greater share of the premierships over time

Yep, your right about Subi -- you can see how lucky we have been with the draft by the availability of players, such as, Horseley.
