Sad to say Cm, but that sums up the situation nicely. They've always seemed to have done it better in South Australia? Whereas the numpties here seem to be more interested in riding the taxpayer funded gravy train. But will stand corrected if wrong.

They are like the landlords of an old home, refusing to make renovations, knowing that eventually the house will have to be demolished and a new home put up. If Perth was an AFL club which had rarely made finals in the past 40 years they would be given all sorts of concessions to try and make them competitive whereas they have just been left to wallow in the inequitable WAFL.

Well done. I think you've said very eloquently in this short space what I said in an epic four-part ramble! It was late ok? I have wondered for many years why there is no WAFL board. Not only is there a SANFL Board of Directors but they seem to have some significant influence on the SA Footy Commission. It seems to be working. Here we have no WAFL board and iit seems everything is left to the commission. "The tail wagging the dog". Wouldn't the club presidents want a board again? Or do they have no influence? Surely as a group, the presidents must be concerned.

This AFL/VFL conspiracy to fark over the WAFL has been going on since 87 when WCE joined the VFL then Freo in 94.....so why all the commotion now?..is it because Peel won the flag...and they were traditionally the easy beats of the comp.....
.....I understand folk are frustrated with the WAFL lack of competency.......but like I said before people are a bit late jumping up n down now when the horse bolted in 87....the WAFL era ended then for me more so in 94 and most certainly with EP 3peat at the turn of the century.....

.....thats why 42 I am simply arguing against the likes of you n grassy for the sake of it.....I did all my bitching and complaining back in the late eighties and early nineties.....cant be arsed going over same old same old..gave up and went travelling OS for a decade or so....just find it bemusing its suddenly a travesty and a problem now Subi have dominated the comp and Peel have won a flag and might win another....wasn't a problem with the same AFL/VFL driven agenda back when WCE or Freo came on the scene.....why now?........

Serious question what is stopping Perth from returning to finals?
Do they have less juniors to draw from? I realise alot of their zones are now full of pensioners but I thought this had previously been addressed?
Do they not have the finances to compete with everyone excluding EPFC,Peel and Subiaco?

Sorry Grassy I didnt realise sharing another view of an argument was stopping or standing in the way of yours and 42's fight....u guys r passionate WAFL men...keep fighting I say....just think if we were all in Subi's shoes this fight u show wouldnt be there in the same intensity....never ever seen a situation where a successful club giving an inch for equality...nor their fans...cant see Perth fans or any fans with 7 or so flags in 10-12 years thinking "mmmm this is not right lets make this comp even"....winning is very good at clouding ones judgement of seeing the full picture, whilst losing opens a plethora of pandora's boxes full of conspiracy of that same picture...just human nature I guess

Can not have them both in the same team. I would prefer neither in the team. Wally is not up to it and Stack is keeping a youngster out and he applies no forward pressure at all. Occasionally looks like he is but is in fact only running along side his opponent when they have the ball.

Glad I choose my games now.

Honestly Cant believe Wally gets a game and am starting to doubt the Duke.

How can you say you're doubting the Duke. It was the players that let him down on Saturday they simply just did not rock up.

That's pretty much the way I see it as well Freeze, once the Dockers came in your mob and mind were pretty much screwed majorly long term and there's no point moaning about it now, the time to stop the steam roller was years ago. All we are left with now is the scraps and the vast majority of the new breed of footy followers in WA could not give a rats arse, as for Perth this year marks the 40th anniversary of their last flag, and there is no indication of it breaking any time soon, zero changes year in year out. maybe with the eagles moving in next door a new direction might be found, who knows.

On another note Freeze, I hear it is pretty much a done deal that EFFC will move back to Fremantle Oval after a meeting last week.

freez..I for one am very much in favour of putting processes in place to even out the comp. be it raising the salary and/or points cap for teams finishing out of the five for x number of consecutive years or putting a moratorium on top 5 clubs recruiting from bottom 4 clubs or all of the above. for someone who suffered through 49 years without success I'm fully understanding of the likes of Perth having a moan or two and think the cyclical nature of success in sport is being eroded by the WAFC not working hard enough to even out the comp. all clubs having a measure of success over time is critical to the long term survival of the comp by keeping fans interested....just my thoughts and could be wrong.

Just makes sense Bazza...yeah sad from a traditional perspective but hey both clubs lived together many moons ago...circle of life...if EF can re-establish itself financially then all good..I thought with the council moving in for a while any move or decision regarding the two clubs sharing was at a stand still?

Yeah true BC...bet none of the Perth or SD fans gave a flying fark when their teams were strong and Subi were getting pantsed in those 49 years....was the comp even then?...if so why were Subi so poor on and off the footy field?

I understand where you're coming from mate and I also think it's a bit rich for some on here to bitch and moan given the bogans get a leg up from BHP etc but I'm also about the long term sustainability of the WAFL and to assist in that regard I do think the WAFC should look at putting additional things in place beyond the points and salary caps to even out the comp. it's time to think outside the box and maybe something like the WAFC distributing its annual grants to clubs based on their percentage of home grown talent playing league over the year....Claremont would receive more and Subi less...incentivize the promotion of local juniors seems a bit of a no brainer to me.
