All those small forwards are all capable of kicking goals. In regards to tall forwards, Sam Garstone wile he didn't set the world on fire on Friday night he looked to me that he had put on a bit of weight. Could he possibly play forward with Ben Power and Christian Eyres obviously rotating through the ruck. As you say we only need the talls to get the ball to ground or even better mark it.

Our tall kids must be given a go.
We can't have small and medium forwards taking the best defenders.

Reckon we will be saying the same thing come July!

Something should have been done pre-season.

Im all for playing the kids but surely a mature big body down there to lend a hand is the way to go.

Will be interesting to see who plays where on Saturday and how the team goes against some proper opposition. I for one am looking forward to it. There are still plenty of positions up for grabs for that first game against Swans at Bassendean in two weeks time.

Colts start at 9am, Reserves 11:40am and League 2:05pm.

Yes Sam Garstone is another tall forward option and so is Daniel Arangio who looked good up forward on Friday. Has good hands and a great left foot kick on him. He's an exciting prospect.

I liked the look of Arangio. I think he's only about 187cm though. Still though I hope he gets a chance early and can put some runs on the board.

Arangio is 21 and 187/80. No question about ability and potential. He is a skilful player but could do with a little beef-up.

Garstone is 19 and 196/83. He is also a skilful player but seemed to me to be a bit lazy in the ressies last season. Potentially he is tall that could play as a forward target. He also needs some toughening up in size and also attitude, IMO

Hopefully ES is what these young talls need.
We have a number of them, now is the time to nurture them.
We need to teach them to play.
Contrary to some belief that they should know how.

An interesting point DF. We do expect these kids to know how to play and so they should to a point.
But, when the transition paths get so blocked they tend get stifled in their development and, in many cases, miss out on the opportunity to develop to their potential for WAFL or even AFL careers.
Let us hope that at our club that is starting to change. We must part ways with the "hangers on" and give the kids the opportunities that will bring out the best in them.

All you blokes talk about is how tall and how big someone is. If they fit that criteria then they must be ok.

How about can they get the ball, take a grab and chase someone down??????

Dogman the best players by a mile in the last 10 years for the Pfc have been medium sized midfielders and smalls. Heck one of them even won a sandover
