Carlton and B have recently won preseason cup grand finals only to finish bottom or near bottom the same year. - Haven't been to any games except Friday's at Lathlain. Nice to see Cabes there btw.

Barry Cables there quite a lot from what I can gather. Has two grandsons there I think.

I won't be able to make next week's scratch match, so would really appreciate some game summaries. Maybe even a team list... Is Walley signed up? Are Ironmonger and Wallis mature or young? Is either likely to contest Eyres for number 1 ruck?

Garlett seemed to play around the half forward line, going through the middle sometimes.

I saw David Johnston in defence. Billings was there as well. Jordan Busher, J. Morton, Wellburn, Irons etc.

Ironmonger and Wallis are youngsters.

Geez I hope so because our back line is skinny and not overly tall. He's an honest tryer but he makes his fair share of mistakes.

What do you think of their progress Dazzler?

From memory when DJ was at the club back in 2013 he was having a good preseason and then went down either just before round one pr in the early stages of the year with an infection in his arm. IMO this really hampered all the work he had done in the offseason.

For me ge is a good solid defender, you know what you will get with him. He is no Tallen Ames or Darren Rumble but I injury free I expect him to be playing in the league team.

Maybe ES can help him there.
I think a lot of the mistakes come from fitness.
So if their fitter maybe they will develop their games.

They have worked hard over preseason. No stupid running up and down the ground playing against imaginary opponents like last season. They were kicking up the ground on Friday night rather than laterally or backwards like past seasons.

They are going to be an unknown quantity to everyone including supporters with so many new faces, plans and structures. They are going to be pretty inexperienced as well. That could be exciting or it could be disastrous. Let's see how they go about it on Saturday.

Well I suppose we will see if the fitness is improved over the next couple of games.
