Yes, some big outs turtle but plenty of room in both the salary and points caps for recruiting and, hopefully, a couple of returns..eg Ali Smith and Teddy.

Well we have been hearing from the club for a while and now from even Spalding that other than Subi we are right up there off field...lets see.

Yep those guys are great but its the new recruits that im curious to see,who we target and what type of player they are.
You only have to look at the premiers to see what influence all there recruits had on them winning the flag.

In answer to your question Turtle,as it stands right now,no we dont have the cattle!

Recruit like we have in the past and by that i mean we only ever half do the recruiting that is required/needed and the rest is cross your fingers and hope for the best and it will be business as usual for the Demons...down the bottom end of the ladder.

I would give my left clacker to recruit another Brett Spinks. More than any other recruit save for Ross Young, has someone impacted Perth so favourably. Find another Spinks and we could move dramatically....... to at least 7th.

30+.....pretty sure PFC recruited two fella's fresh out of the AFL this year.....one a 2012 premiership player and another a former top ten draft pick in his early twenties.....both had better footy CV's than Boland and Dela Hunty who had average VFL credentials, Stockley an ex WP reserves player, Yarren a fella out of Sunday football.......Subi's local depth won them the flag this year......something PFC have lacked for years, but a lot of you boys think you seem to have in spades.....Florio, Busher, Houghton, Fry etc.......hopefully Spaldings fresh eyes will bring a change for Perth's success......though I reckon he might go and raid his former club in Wesley-Curtin for players......be interested to see who Spalding appointment attracts to PFC over the summer......a few of Subi's depth boys may come under PFC radar, especially if the likes of Dennis-Lane, Wood, Cockie come back to them in 2015

Thats the point of my post Freezin,we recruit good players but fail to finalise a pre season with absolute recruiting by filling Key positions.
For example A tall KP defender and a tall KP forward a mature aged ruckmen and a midfielder were all required for the 2014 season, whilst we recruited we didnt secure any of those.

I dont rate our overall squad/list/depth with the same enthusiasm as some.

Subi had roughly 8 recruits playing off in the GF,thats significant!
Bristow a quality mid and Simpson medallist,Twomey had a great season and GF,McDougall(yes former Perth player but a Subi recuit none the less)played his role,Boland had a good rep in Victoria and was 2nd in the goal kicking, they got Hilderbrandt back most good judges knew Stockley was going to be a league regular that was going to fill a void,Mahoney no hack and Yarran who proved to be a handy goal sneak.
Theres a couple of ruckmen a couple of quality mids a KP forward,Twomey can play both ends of the ground and has experience, that to me is sound recruiting.

Subi's recruits played a huge part in them winning the flag and like all good teams they had the depth as well.
Its not a matter of recruiting for recruiting sake but target what you need and go out and get it!

Agree that we need to recruit for a needs basis and not just because someone will look good on paper. And then like Subiaco we need to see players already at the club go to another level like George Hampson and Rhys Waters did this year.
