Who is in charge of the strength and fitness programme?

Smokey, not 100% sure but I think it is Grenville Dietrich with special aerobic advice from Mick Nolan.

Do we know their credentials Swanky? Have they been recently appointed or have they been involved at the club in previous seasons?

If they have been involved previously they need to go.
Not good enough.
We are the worst team in the competition for fitness.
Without peer!!

Correct DF. We need to lift our game in strength and fitness dramatically or nothing else will matter. IMHO

Just another on-field issue that we have failed to rectify over the decades!
A deficiency that stares the club in the face and they fail to see it,just like having a tall key forward!!

On the Spalding appointment, why 3 years??
Surely 2 with a club option of a 3rd would be the sensible way to go and oh its nice to hear that Snake has a "soft spot" for Perth.

Aaah sorry there Smokey and fellow Perthites. I was taking the piss. Grenville Dietrich was an South Aussie footballer pre AFL days who was a champion full forward but he used to smoke over a packet a day, drink a dozen cans daily and have a pizza on the way to training. He one missed a game as a piping hot pizza he was eating 30 minutes before the game started fell on his foot and burned him so badly, he couldn't put his boot on. He kicked close to 500 goals in around 100 games with an average just below 5 goals per game. He was an awesome player but slack as.

Mick Nolan played for North Melbourne and was called the galloping Gasometer due to his substantial girth plus love of ciggies and beer. I think his playing weight was 135kg yet he was only 190cm. Played over 100 games for North in the heyday of VFL.

not Mick "The Galloping Gasometer" Nolan?.....135kg from memory was what the fella weighed?

My best mate used to be PFC strength and fitness conditioner in the mid 90s......all the fellas wanted to do was bicep curls and bench press......it used to do his head in.....but hey times have changed, surely it wouldn't be too hard implementing a half decent strength & fitness programme these days.......

I reckon Spalding will have a vast more respect of the players/coaching staff etc on every front compared to MacMahon......recruit well fella's and get everyone on board and I really can't see why Perth can't be up there competing for a top 5 position in 2015.....only one way for Perth to go next year and that is.......up!
