Still reckon we are deficient in height and strength particularly in the back half but too late now, we'll see how the team shapes up this week in the practice game against SF.

Lol. Daz is there anything positive to report? What do any of the new boys look like?

They didn't spend a hell of a lot of time on the track because they were locked up going over new rules for the season I believe for a fair while.

Chance obviously looked pretty good as did Reimers. I liked the look of a kid who I think is Dale Wallam. He moves pretty well.

What I did notice is compared to last pre-season when training to me sometimes looked half arsed they have much more intensity about it when I've seen them train this season. They all look a bit bigger as well, blokes like Donovan for instance look to have bulked up. Maybe they've been working on that.

Having said that when Chris Billings looks one of the bigger bodies out there it worries me that we lack the height, body strength and experience in key positions.

We'll benefit from having McInnes and Tunbridge this season but next year there could be some big holes to fill... Be interesting to see how they structure up in the backline on Saturday.

Kane Ransted looked good though mate, so you should be pleased about that.

Daz this time last year Ransted looked a million dollars on the track but its all between the ears with that bloke. Backwards move if you ask me. He could carry the water with Dene White. Where is all these KPP they are raving about and the 200cm ruckmen?

According to the WAFL website when I looked this morning:

David Johnston and Mitchell Leyendekkers are both 3 points.

Daniel Murray is 11 points.

They are on our list so must have been cleared?

Cruize Garlett now on Peels list at 10 points. Why not 11 like David Johnston?

Anyway looks like 3 for 1.

Murray looked good on Saturday.

Thought you said Johnston was worth 3 DF?....know who you mean mate...not too sure Murray is worth 11.....perhaps an accumulation of points from all his other clubs....EP, Brisbane, Peel now Perth!!.....

fingers crossed the Murray delivers at that price and especially a bit more than what Spaanders did.....awfully similiar stories these two boys.....3 out of 4 clubs the same....it's amazing what happens when the heat goes on when the real stuff begins.....first up shocker and all that good work could go to pot!!.....

no DF, I just don't see things as subjectively as you fella....especially PFC related issues.....all for 2nd chances in life....but the kid is how old?....and how many clubs has been at so far?......tell me what different PFC is gonna do to what Peel, EP or Brisbane couldn't do....or didn't do?....got so many familiar Spaandex rings entwined through it.... it's not funny.....

but kudos for giving the kid a 4th attempt at resurrecting his footy career.....I will be the first fella to pat you boys on the back if/when Murray proves folk any different....just logic seems to be shouting out to me, that Murray is the sort of fella who throws in his chips too readily......similiar to Spaandex and to a lesser degree Neon.....life in the WAFL just aint what Neon is used to.....especially when you are losing and the sun aint shining at Moss St in front of 1000 people.....life at Collingwood in terms of success, money and adulation was just too good for Neon......hopefully Chance did it harder at Hawthorn!! ;)

Freeze, I agree that one could easily draw some similarities between Daniel Murray and Spandermann, the number of clubs, potentially high maintenance etc, etc. But I noticed something about Daniel Murray on Saturday that certainly didn't remind me of Spandermann. He looked to be enjoying his footy and his team mates, actively participating in the breaks and discussing points of play and tactics with his mid-fielders. This is something that I never really noticed with Spandermann and he alsways looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. One could say that the jury is still out and the proof will be in the pudding, but I very much liked what I saw on Saturday (BOG for me) and I've also seen those same traits from Daniel throughout the last few months of pre-season training.
I don't think there's anything to be concerned about regarding Chance Bateman. He looked terrific and he was doing exactly what you would expect of a player of his calibre; taking an active and lead role at the breaks, encouraging the young guys and setting an example on the field. Before the game I over-heard him speaking to one of the young players mothers, she was welcoming him back to the club and he stated that he was loving being back and enjoying himself.
One 'scrathie' does not make a season, but the signs are definitely there that this club is serious about trying to turn itself around. I don't expect opposition supporters to jump on that wagon, but I hope Perth get behind the club and this playing group.
PS. Liked the look of Jackson Sketcher and Jarod Risol, for 2 victorian lads unfamiliar will local playing conditions their first hit-out in W.A looked very promising.

good post 1961, got no probs with Murray proving me wrong and stepping up for you guys. Hope the kid has a blinder of a season, or goes a long way to showing his potential which attracted brisbane in the first place.

As for Chance, not saying he will be a Neon, just remember neon saying all the right things this time last year.....just reckon it takes a true down to earth sort of guy to move out of all the ego rubbish at a bigger club in a stronger league and come back to a smaller club in a lower league.....13 years is a long time being in that pampered environment....fingers crossed Chance is that down to earth fella you boys are looking for....

just felt with Neon, he must of found it hard to respect a fella like DM, when the chips were down, compared to a legend like Mick Malthouse....just hope Chance doen't go down that same path.....but all good footballers adapt and Chance is more than a very good footballer....christ 200 odd games of AFL and a premiership say it all!!

Hello freeze

That says more about the character of the player than the coach don't you think.

Have you met DM? How have you come to the conclusion that Leon wouldnt have respect for a "fella" like DM. What kind of "fella" is he?. Did you speak to Leon about it? Have you spoken with DM and then formed an opinion after that?
