Only turned 17 this year BH and still has 1-2 years of colts left I think. He is eligible to play State 18's next year if he is good enough to make the squad. I would have him see out the year in the colts and if he is good enough and form warrants selection, play him in the last 2-3 games in the reserves. Let him do another preseason and see where he is this time next year.

Coniglio was 16 when he played in the GF.

Les Fong and Geoff Hendricks were both 16 when they made their respective debuts, many moons ago !

One should not forget that John Todd won a Sandover Medal at 17 years of age when the game was far more physical than it is today.

Maybe supporters have zero interest in it.

I think the answer is that nothing this club does surprises anyone anymore.

You only had to be there on Saturday and watch the insipid crap this mob dished up in one of the most important games this club has played in decades to know that.

That attitude has been around for decades.

I suppose most supporters adopt the line "if i ignore it long enough it will go away".

The question has to be asked "why didnt the players come to play Saturday"???

I hope that the clubs charter is not just centred around culture and competitiveness(although that was missing saturday).

We as a club should not be satisfied with our season to date,we have to get much better and strive to be a top 2 team.

If you are good enough, you are old enough. Clem Smith is clearly good enough so yeah, pick him for league.

Should be plenty of spots available after last Saturday's fiasco.

Dazz, I think that you will find that Clem Smith is at Wesley College and unable to play for PFC until Public Schools footy commitments are completed.
I agree that if he is considered good enough for league footy then he should play when available.

I do believe that they are not permitted to play until the school programme is completed, even during school holidays.
