I won't have to. It will already be taken care of. 

I would be ok with being one of 2-4 clubs taking interstate players, provided the arrangement is one whereby the bottom 2-4 clubs, whoever they might be, take Eagles players. To me, the essence of an alignment is having an arrangement to play Eagles players that other clubs don't have. So if we are a repository for their fringe players irrespective of where we finish on the ladder, it is inevitable that we will come to be seen as a reserves team, or their aligned team. We might be one of two, but we would still be referred to constantly as the Eagles reserves/host/aligned club. I don't want our identity mixed up with the Eagles in that way. Let's say it is just the bottom 2 teams (leaving aside Peel), so next year us and EP. If we finish 6th, and EF finish 7th, then we cease to take Eagles players in 2023 and EF pick it up. And so on it goes, whichever two clubs finish lowest take the Eagles players. That way, it gives those clubs a little more depth without tying them to the Eagles in any long term way. An arrangement based on ladder position would be temporary (at least in theory) and something every club would be involved in should they finish bottom two. Anything else will result in us being referred to constantly as the Eagles reserves or an alignment club, and I want to avoid that at all costs.

Hopefully you have written to your club sharkie asking them not to accept any money from the commission this year and next since most of that money comes from the West Coast Eagles. It’s about time some of you grew up and realised we are all part of the same football system and football family. 

It’s a pity my club hadn’t gone on the front foot and told the naysayers to go forth and multiply and strike a deal with the Eagles. We are the weakest club by a country mile thanks to our pathetic zones the lazy fucken commission have lumped us with so the smart move should be that we take Eagles interstate recruits.

Since East Perth have gone on the front foot I’d say even if we strike a similar deal we’ll be left with the leftovers after EP get first crack. 

I don’t see where not accepting money from the commission fits anywhere into the discussion.  Also, you obviously don’t read many of my posts,  For quite some time now, I have been saying that we all need to accept the football world we now live in.  We don’t have to like it, but we do have to accept it.  Doesn’t mean people can’t vent their spleen though.

Fair enough but I disagree with your assessment of East Perth. They did what they had to do to survive and put their club in a better financial position legally unlike the cheats up the road. Now they are being sensible in offering the Eagles a place for their interstate recruits to play so the Eagles might be successful and those successes will flow down to ALL WAFL clubs including yours. Hopefully you can send EP and Perth a thank you card down the track for accomodating Eagles players.
