With previous player allocations from WCE & Freo I have seen first hand coaches from the AFL Clubs interfering at the huddles.
Their players need to play to our game plan.
No interference or no allocation.
And no more than 2-3.
Just MHO.

I agree Smokey no interference on game day and we must be able to let WC know this guy isn’t up to it or showing the commitment and be dropped to the reserves. But if Karl Langdon is on the money it won’t be happening.

Last night on 6PR Paul Haselby was basically echoing what Mark Duffield wrote in yesterday’s West suggesting Perth is the best placed club to take all interstate recruits, then Langdon said well that won’t be happening according to a couple of senior Perth people I spoke to today.

I am very disappointed if that is the case because in my opinion that is an opportunity missed at a time when we most need it and I don’t buy this I’d rather finish last than have success getting into bed with those so and so’s nonsense.

As the saying goes, if you keep doing what you’ve always done , you will keep getting back what you’ve always got. In fact I believe the gap could get wider with some stronger clubs getting their own back and there could be I reckon 4 to 6 players drafted by Fremantle and WC locally. Obviously the Fremantle draftees will play for Peel next year.

Here is another point. I know for a fact the club wants to get more from the WCE towards our redevelopment. Hahaha good luck with that if we are telling them no we don’t want to take your stinking interstate recruits. Dumb move on our part if we’ve told them to get stuffed.

DD - your last point about the facilities is an interesting one and could give a real money advantage  to PFC. Other clubs may not, as they did in the last alignment, get “matching” amounts from the WAFC and I suspect (but don’t know for sure) that WCE could write the amounts off in the community building budget rather than having to account for it in the football soft cap.

I will try very hard to be comfortable with 3 WCE players chosen by us to help fill some of our essential needs, as long as the selection of WCE players are commited to PFC and our jumper and there is no onfield interference by WCE..

I'm not a Perth supporter, so I tread carefully here, but if the eastern states boys have to go somewhere why not Perth? Perth share their oval; no one would begrudge Perth some success; and if the players are any good they will be in the Eagles anyway. They will be young players, some probably only reserves level. If Perth get a written assurance of complete autonomy on all playing decisions, I would go for it. You could say we will only play a maximum of 4 in the league, or something,  if you want to keep your identity solid.

I stopped reading after you first 5 words.
The last people to comment on this situation should be Subiaco supporters.

CP, it's a online forum. Anyone can comment on whatever they like. That's the point.  Apart from that,  the topic is an important and interesting matter for the WAFL and all WAFL supporters to think about.

Thanks JL, and I guarantee you any young draftee will be miles ahead in ability of our 2021 colts talent. I’ve heard many a Perth supporter say I don’t rate 10 or 12 of our league players, wouldn’t get a game in any of the top 5 or 6 teams. We struggle for talent, how long do some of you have get beaten into submission before you admit it?

There is no shame in my mind taking in Eagles interstate recruits while we are so disadvantaged when it comes to access to the best talent in the state. Even East Perth has the second most highest players attending the draft combine and that’s a club that prior to their recent alignment with the Eagles struggled to fill colts and reserves teams.

They have come out of the alignment on the right path. We can to and it doesn’t need to be a full blown alignment.

So reading around, we have a possibility of the Eagles/Perth alignment, the Eagles talking to their bitches again and the Eagles  players going back to club of origin in the WAFL.  Will be interesting to see where this goes.

You mean Eagles talking to Perth, or East Perth? How recent and where are you reading this?
